A revised explanation from the seller is rather humourous as well: UPDATE: I just added a photo of the insides. An e-bayer told me it may be an A/B box. I don't know which it originally was. If I look closely at the top of the pedal, I can see Chorus CE-2 was on the pedal, then maybe removed. So maybe.... 1) the black paint (or decal) was removed and the unit was altered ... or ... 2) this may have been a factory A/B Box that Boss used the same casing for. In any case, I don't know. Buy it as you see it. Thanks

If I had the cash, I would pick it up and start Jack's Cruelly Frankensteined Pedals Retirement Home....Give it a nice resting place while taking that horrifying pedal off the streets, and keeping some ignorant person from thinking they are buying a Boss product, and possibly getting a bad impression of them...
