I always change things around so I don't really have a definitive setup that I always use. Right now my chain is:

Guitar -> Crybaby wah -> PSM-5 - > Amp.

Inside the PSM-5's loop I have CS-3 -> OD-1 -> PQ-3B -> CE-2 -> DM-2.
Tomorrow it may not look the same anymore

It is always changing, but right now it's TU2 - GE7 - (modded) BD2 - (modded) DD2

That's for live gigs, but for the rehearsal room, it's:

TU2 - CS3 - (modded)BD2 - (modded)SD1 - (modded)CE2 - (modded)TR2 - (modded)DD2 - RV2

If you have more then 4 pedals why dont build yourself a true-bypass pedal? Then you bypass all the pedals and get a good clean tone wiyh not-so-much treble-loss.
Its very easy to build one:

Would that be similar to the amp's effects loop?

No, on an amp you use the effects loop between the pre and power amp.
This little pedal bypass all (or some of them if you wish) of your pedals, so that there aint no buffering stage between the guitar and amp. Buffering stages are of course good if you use lots of pedals and long cables. But just one stage i sufficent for this.
The pedal is very good if you have say five pedals on and want to step them out in one step.
I seen some people use one true-bypass-pedal for every buffered pedals on their board.
Its a cool pedal and very easy to build. Some sells it too, Keeley I think, but as there are no components other than the jacks and the switch its easy to do by yourself.
Well, I hope I made this understandable, I wish Stinkfoot could clear things up...

No, you explained it clearly. I never really understood the whole thing with true bypass, but it makes sense now. Thanks. When I manage to build one I'm sure it will make even more sense.

Its a good "invention" for not-true-bypass-pedals (like Boss, Ibanez etc).
Do you have this book:
Guitar Effects Pedals: The Practical Handbook

by Hunter, Dave

There you have everything explained, how to use it in different applications. This book is very, very valuable for all interested in pedals.

I have the book, but I haven't read through it all, just skipprd around and looked up info for some pedals I would like to own. I'll have to find it and read through it in more detail. Thank you.

Do that and you will learn lots, like I did when I bought it, even if youre not a bit technical (like me) even the technical bits are understandable.

I'll definitely do that. I'm sure I'll learn at least something! Thanks again.

This looks like a hard bypass version of the PSM-5. I still prefer using the PSM-5, NS-2 or LS-2 for this purpose. They may not have true bypass but when bypassing the effects in the loop there will only be one fet-switch in the signal chain and I can live with that.

This is one of the topic that i'm not really sure of... is there any "public secret" on how to arrange your pedals? Right now i have..

Snarling Dog Wah -> NS-2 -> DD-6
Inside of the NS-2 loop, it's CS-3 -> BD-2 -> MT-2 -> AC-2..

is this the correct setup? or there's no such thing as a correct setup? any suggestion to re-arrange my pedals? thanks

There used to be a diagram on the Boss site that shows recommended pedal chain order(s), but I can't seem to find it now. There's no "right or wrong" way to put your pedals in the signal path, but there are certain ways that are typical or recommended. Here's an example:

Compressor - Overdrive - Distortion - EQ - Chorus/Flanger/Phaser - Delay - Reverb

It's all up to your personal preference and what you think sounds good.
