Hi Like most of you guys we take our pedals however we can find them. And yes ebay is great but no one ever seems to keep the boxes. So does anybody out there have or know where I can get a supply of surplus Boss pedal boxes requiring a new home.
Thanks in anticipation

| There have actually been some boxes on eBay up for auction recently, so you might want to try there... |

Hi Jack. Thanks for the advice. I did see a couple a few weeks ago, (I keep looking) should have gone for it. But the search goes on. So if anyone has any let me know. Pawlo

| You could actually try Roland (Europe) directly. I contacted them out of curiosity once and they offered surplus boxes at 3 Euros a piece plus S&H. Don't expect matching boxes, though. |

| Hi. Thanks for the advice. I tried Roland UK and they were unable to help (they are suppliers and distributors only) and it is impossible to directly contact Roland US and don't even try joining the forum if you are not from the USA. Do you have the specific email address you tried, if so that would be helpful. I'll let you know how I get on. Cheers Pawlo. |

| Check with Ryan at pacificustompedals.com. He rehouses Boss pedals for true bypass and ends up with the shells. Good luck. |

Well it's been a while since I began my quest, so heres an update and another plea.
After contacting Roland US (not the easiest or pleasant of tasks) follwed by Roland UK and Roland Central Europe, (Central Europe were the most helpful). I am still not much further on. I did manage to snag a couple from ebay but they are rarer than mint Spectrums, Slow Gears and Vibrato's.
I even spent a day of my holiday in the US chasing the dream but with no luck. So if anyone out there has any empty pedal boxes for sale or knows where they may be obtained let me know.
Cheers Pawlo |

| A while ago we had a thread discussing whether it would be worth getting a few made. They're quite simple and there's lots of companies that can make boxes. Only problem is that they would demand you place a minimum order. |

bossarea..who would you get to make them? i would consider getting some made, as i need quite a few.
back on topic, i tried Roland Canada, and like Pawlo said, they are very difficult to find. they got back to me and said negative on the box scene. although they sell manuals. |

I did a few google searches earlier and found quite a few box manufacturers. I never got round to contacting them but there was a choice so I would need to call round and get some offers. I would probably need to sacrifice an existing box so I could unfold it and get the exact measurements. I could then draw a template that the box makers could use. |

| Would a box manufacturer print it all as it's meant to be, or would there be red-tape involved with copyright infringement? It would be good though I must admit if they could do them correctly, all that would be missing would be the 'bellybutton' from the screw:P |

We would need to order quite a few of the same design for it to be affordable so using the exact design of an existing box would perhaps not be the best idea. However... I got a new idea
Let's turn this into a DIY project instead.
I just pulled apart a box here to see how it is constructed. For a cardboard box it looks quite advanced but how hard can it be? (It might be a mistake to say that)

The bottom is 1mm corrugated cardboard while the lid is perhaps 0.5mm plain cardboard. I will need to double check the thicknesses before I go out shopping but it gives you an idea. As the lid is made from very thin cardboard I'm sure the graphic can be printed on a standard printer. Not sure if it's possible to get the same glossy finish though.
I'll trace out the boxes and get the exact measurements. Then I'm gonna go hunting for a cardboard shop |

| Luckily I did my work experience at school at a cardboard box manufacturer...unfortunately it doesn't really help the situation, I just know how to use paintshop pro quite well, and can glue boxes to my hearts content:P |
