yup, sound really depends on your taste and mood IMO. sometimes i would place it after DIST/OD.

+1! Even if a MIJ OD-2 sounded slightly better, I'd keep my OD-2r!

i love the mojo of the OD-2, OD-2r is great because of the volume drop solution, but volume drop is not a problem anymore in my set up coz i have a MXR micro amp now

here's my current setup..



basically guitar -> polytune -> NS input
then NS Send -> everything else starting with PH-3 (much better before drives) then back to NS return
then NS output -> to DD-7 -> To Fender Blues Jr.

swap in the DS-1 depending on my mood!

I'm a knob fiddler and just a hobby player so this board mostly sits on the bed while I play with it hah, getting too old to bend over everytime
