hi everyone, new to the forum and i am looking forward to share my obsession i was just wondering what interesting effects people have managed to create when using unusual combinations of boss pedals? me and my friend put my les paul through 2 OS-2s in distortion mode and a CH-1 and this wonderful, yet horrible siren noise came flooding out of the amp

Here are a couple of earlier (but still recent) threads that might offer some suggestions:

My all time favorite is the MT-2 into an EH-2, or better yet into two EH-2s.

just as good is the BD-2 mixed with an SD-1(MIJ).

BD-2 before EH-2 to an amp with reverb, makes a tone that kills

i was thinking if there has been threads like this then this should be one for really unusual effects made when mixing pedals, rather than what sounds great, but we can keep like this if everyone likes

stahlhart. i meant 2 right in a row at the very end of my chain. before i had my MT-2 into one EH2 with the MIX knob set to 8 oclock. now i have 2 EH-2s after my MT-2 with both mix knobs set to about 10 oclock.

have you ever heard the EH-2 saying, its like taking a blanket off your amp? well with 2 EH-2s its like taking a blanket off your amp and a quilt off your first EH2

one of my favourites is my ph2 into my dd3's (one on a short delay, one on long delay)and then into my ch1(older analog type)you can get a sort of leslie speaker vibe...ie claptons sound in the middle of 'badge' i use the chorus in stereo so the delays give the sound a bit of andy summers/police,gilmour meets clapton/harrison....i also tried the bf2 instead of the phaser it really thickens up the chorus effect especially if you keep the rate and depth the same and the resonance down on the flanger...i used to drive the fz3 into my od2 on some lead parts but i've dropped it of my board ..i think the od2 in turbo mode gives much the same effect but with a clearer sound,i still like to put my cs3 into the od2 or my ds1(old jap type) or the ds1 into the od2 sounds good to me as well.....the trick i think with the ds1 is to keep the distortion down at not more than 50% and the treble way down at about 20% this way i get a good slightly dirty crunch sound and it pushes the od2 in a way that i like.....the ds1 gets a lot of bad press but a lot of the big guys use them...satch,vai,lynch,stern and glenn frey from the eagles......once again your guitar and amp play a big part....

Isn't that George Harrison's sound in the middle of "Badge"?

also the PS5 and DD5 is awesome. with the PS5 set to "tremolo arm" set the speed at slow, and the pitch to +1 octave
with about 800 ms delay time on the DD5. even throw a wah in between

spooky stuff.

think you could be right on the money stahlhart..i think lennon suggested it to clapton to make his sound more 'beatley' on harrisons song 'while my guitar gently weeps'but i think your right harrison was using leslie speakers before that...just as a matter of interest clapton still uses one to this day in his live rig that and his wah pedal are the only effects he uses... probaly easier to carry a ce2 or a univibe for us mere mortals...

For reference there was a while that Clapton was using a chorus pedal, as this site notes a CE-3.

just checked out dave navarro at the boss site ....dave's a little older than me so i think i have to give the delay pedal idea to him...!!!i never heard much of his stuff except the time he was with the chilli peppers ....would i be right in thinking his style is more heavier than john fruscainte's as he made a reference to dave murray from iron maiden being an infulence and if i remember correctly the chilli's sound changed a good bit as well.....
