| RIP Les Paul 94 years young. I do have a 92 white Les Paul Studio. I think I will play some sad songs on it today. Probably "Tears in Heaven". |

Maybe it's a celtic thing..but when someone like Les,passes on after getting the span of years he did plus getting to do something he loved..(play the guitar right up till just the time he died with some of the best players in the world dropping into his gig on a monday night to guest with him..)..we tend to celebrate the life of a person like this rather than be too sad, usually ends up in a big party with singing/music and lots of ....not many of us will get a shot of the title like this..so don't be too sad and play some happy songs...get them Les Pauls ROCKIN'.....

I think a chorus or two of "How High the Moon" would be great.
You young rockers and shredders, if you don't know the song I'm talking about, check this out and see how a real guitar player makes it work without all the overt distortion... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0ffdwBUL78&feature=related |

Bang on Franzoni - it's time for celebration and not too much
I grabbed my '78 yesterday, cranked her up and bashed out just about every Jimmy Page riff and lick I could remember - Jimmy with the guitar slung low is the one Les Paul icon that always comes back to me.
I certainly enjoyed myself and even my family understood why - hell...I can't believe what a tolerant family I've got - all girls too - there comes a time when a man just has to be left alone with his guitar for a while... |

A great loss, we owe that man so much: the LP guitar, multitracking, DI recording, etc.
Have one on me on your journey to the great gig in the sky, Les |

Man, sad news. Now I want to make another baby to try and have him reincarnated as my child.

I have always leaned to the Strat side of guitars but everyone is right it was his inventions that made modern music what it is I still remember my little 4 track cassette recorder and the first time I was able to play along with myself it was a magical moment and it was because of Les Paul it's funny at the time I was trying my hand at slide guitar and the song I wanted to play was this quite fitting little number from the movie crossroads, What was the line? "The blues 'aint nothin' but a good man feelin' bad" The little bit of English dialogue is overdubbed (fittingly) in another language enjoy and RIP Les Paul

It's a great loss but i'm not sad when a 94 years old man dies, it's sad, but natural and he had a long life so there's no need to cry RIP Mr LesPaul and thank you |
