check this out:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230444425400

looks like gplayer298 is leading the charge.

I always thought all CE-2s sound same, regardless screw type or taiwan/japan manufactured.

Even stranger is all the fuss over a CE-2. I musta missed the memo that they are unobtanium. Even with SS, there's usually a few on eBay. It seems even the rarest Boss pedals are out there most of the time.

I see you have much love for the CE-2 Dr. Bob! It is a great sounding chorus and a good looker to boot. I've got a line on a well loved but now nonfuntioning SS LD. I'll let ya know if I score it, and better yet bring it back to life!

Keep saying that and I'll end up buying one very overpriced unit out of desperation...

Maybe I should offer my BF-3 in trade for a MIT CE-2...

Yeah, I'd rather spend it in a Marshall amp as we're scheduled to play in two months. The CE-2 can wait until sanity comes back to prices... Or just forget about trying to get one, just the same that happens when you grow up and realize you won't be riding a Ferrari on your way to work.

You know what, if I had a large amount of boss pedals to sell, maybe I would do what they are doing too. Make artificial auctions with my buddies bidding like crazy, or me buying for crazy prices from buddies with no money actually spent.
With some effort this could really lead to temporary raise in some Boss pedals prices. Then sell my stock.

I think Miky hit the jackpot.

It's starting to look more and more like this is a scam.

Then I'm not falling for that. If I can pay and feel it's the right amount for a pedal I need, I'll buy it. If not, I won't, no matter how old or rare the pedal is.

The pity is that some people is trying to sell their CE-2's on ebay at very high prices saying 'I saw one going for $$$'... And worse still, some people will buy them.

I noticed that there's been a recent price explosion on CE-2s. For instance, check out these recent auctions:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Boss-CE-2-MIJ-Long-Dash-Silver-Screw-Serial-0000_W0QQitemZ230449185432QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGuitar_Accessories?hash=item35a7d78298

http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-BOSS-CE-2-CHORUS-LONG-DASH-VERSION-S-N-071400_W0QQitemZ260567801566QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGuitar_Accessories?hash=item3cab0d1ede

I'm perfectly happy with my old Taiwan CE-2 which costs fraction of these ridiculous prices. I recently sold this CE-2 and bought Retro Sonic Analog Chorus, which still costs 10x less these ridiculous prices.

People, please wake up!
