Thanks for the help. How do you go about working this out? Is there a set formula? Thanks |

I'd use the same setup as Lost_In_Sound.. But I'd put the TU-2 at the end of the chain.. The less cables and connectors you put before your distortion pedals, the less noise you'll get... plus the TU2 at the end of the chain, when in Tuner mode, will block ALL noise coming from your pedals... including white noise...
I hope this helps... |

depending on what kind of music you play, i have a little different recommendation.
if you like to use heavy distortion, i recommend trying the wah AFTER distortion. ive been doing this for a few years now. i found that using a wah before and hard distortion would just sound like a filter turning on and off. but looking at your setup again, it doesnt look like your too into metal.
ive never been a flanger guy or so i thought. i always found them too strong. but recently i tried putting my flanger before my distortion, and it can really give you a nice Eddie Van Halen sound since most of it is covered up by distortion and you only get a little bit of it coming through.
there are recommendations and guidelines, but it really comes down to what sounds best to you. good luck

I play in a band that plays a wide variety, funk,reggae,jazzyand a few rock based solo's. Cheers for all your input guys, thats given me a bit to think about. There are a few options there but at least i have a basic idea of the correct layout. |

i put flange before distortion but the layout i gave you was only technically what should "correct" but experiment, try and do something stupid like pahse, then wah, then flange then distoriton or something and see what you get |

I was always told :
volume pedal -> compression - > wah/phaser -> distortion(s)/overdrive(s) -> equalizer -> modulation (chorus, flanger...) -> spaces (reverb, echo, delay) -> another volume pedal
Of course, this is just to get you started. The best thing is to experiment and find what tone suits you best. For example, there are a lot of people who put eq before dist/od and use it as a booster.
Hope this helps.
Cheers! |

guitar>TU2>CRYBABY>SD1 if you have a effects loop PH1R>BF2>DD3
 experiment mate find what you like. It all depends on what amp your using and guitar etc. I use 3 rigs and each is setup differant

I will try and find a guide to effects setup I have on my HD somewhere and cut and paste it in here for you, but again it is only by experimenting you will find your tone.
