I read the CH-1 info on Bossarea and it says that the older versions are analog! How can I know that a CH-1 is analog? What are the diffs beteween CH-1 and CE-2 related to their sound? In my opinion I think thats an interesting question...

The easiest way to find out which one you have is to date it using the serial number. If it predates Oct-01, it's analog. If in doubt, open it up and check for for an analog BBD circuit inside. I think it's a MN3007 (or somthing similar).

The CH-1 is quite different from the CE-2. It's a different kind of chorus but it's hard to describe the difference in words. I've never been a fan of the CH-1 but I know that some forum members hold it as their fav.

CH-1's are a lot more "dry" in their sound. it's also a bit more up front.

the CE series pedals have always seemed to add a spatial feel to things whereas the CH-1's behave like more of a pure modulation effect.

basically, CH-1's aren't very "shimmery" but they do a true amp chorus simulation.

i used to hate CH-1's but they've grown on me and i no longer hate them.

I tried CH-1 when I bought my rare BF-2 and it sounded amazing! But I tried it using a very expensive Fender and the amp was a mesa. I really do wanna try CE-2 cuz I didnt have a chance to really try it. Theres something I noticed about analog and digital pedals: I have a DM-2a and a Ibanez DE-7. My BF-2 sounds WAY better when I use my DM-2a

It seems that 97% of the members here prefers CE-2 than CH-1. And a lot of guitarrists were into CE-2 like the late Steve Clark from Def Leppard. I really do need a chorus cuz Ive been just using my BF-2 to emulate a chorus, but we do know thats not the same thing. I need a chorus that youcan say that a true chorus, wet, in front but that sometimes behaves like a pure modulation. Does anyone have some samples of them? I mean, pedals alone, playing different rhythms and arpegious without any other pedals (distortions, overdrives) and instruments.

My CH-1 is in storage and never sees the light of day. It was the 3rd Boss pedal I bought years ago and it nearly put me off the brand.

That being said, I really should dig it out and give it another go now that I'm a lot mor "Boss literate"........

i used a CH-1 for a long time,my one is analogue and i never cared for it in mono..but the day i got the marshall and ran it in stereo with the musicman..... i could not believe it was the same pedal....since then i've got a CE-2 and it it is the best chorus sound(i still have fond Memories of my DOD fx65 stereo chorus)i've got..i also find it mixes better with my BF-2 for some seriously thick 80's chorus sounds..... if i get the chance i will try using the CE-2 and the CH-1 together with the CH-1 in stereo to see what it sounds like..........
