I bought a MT-2 on ebay before i even had an amp to play it with. I cant remember if I had the guitar already or not. But I had the MT-2 for about 2 years just sitting in a drawer just because I wanted it so much. I guess i thought it didnt need an amp |

Hi mattoqua Now that's what, I would call keen.
When you finally got an amp, & plugged it in, did it sound as good, as in your Imagination-Amp?

A band i was in at the time were in the middle of buying a P.A. out of a local music shop when we split so i paid the others off and used the credit note to buy two dod pedals and a digitech delay.... the overdrive was a fx 55 overdrive plus,a fx 65 stereo chorus and i think the delay was a 2002 model . it was one of the twin pedals...i had never used effects before,i had a lend of mxr mircoamp(if you can call that an effect)for a gig once, but the guy in the shop told me these three pedals were all i would need to get started...didn't steer me wrong....he could of sold me anything i wouldn't of had a clue..... ..... |

haha yea it sounded amazing. The guy that taught me how to play had the danelectro version of the MT-2 with him, and i thought it was the best thing ever. Then he told me he had one that was a thousand times better at home, the Boss MT-2. I just remembered that name, and went on ebay as soon as i got home (3 weeks later was a long time to remember MT-2 :P)
I was living with my stepdad at the time, who is a bouzouki player and teacher (who also loved the pedal). Once in a while he has his equipment stored at home for a while, so as soon as I could, I grabbed his 12-input amp, huge speakers that weigh a ton and plugged in the MT-2. It was an amazing set up, and was more than I could handle. So being a new player, once in a while I would have a whole professional set up, then absolutely nothing. Thats how it was for a long time. Then I finally got my own amp 2 years ago, and 20 other pedals. |

my first pedal was my dad's old OD-1 that he had bought new back in the 70s. i still have it! it's one with the clear switch, and a big long chip instead of the classic JRC chip (sounds better than them too). he also gave me his early 70s JEN mr.crybaby super wah/vol pedal that i never ever leave the house with when playing a gig. that was back in '93 i think, when i first picked up guitar.
the first pedal i bought was a used (silver screw, so it happens) DS-1.
rock on!

| My first was a distortion/fuzz pedal that I made myself. Now I feel the need to go find it and see if it still works. Oddly enough it was great for fuzz sounds, better than any real fuzz pedal I've used. |

Hi DarrinPA Sounds great.. I really hope you find it. I gave away my first fuzz, that I built, & they guy lost it. If you find it, & the old schematic, please post it up here of us older guys.
I thinks i still have the mag, that I built the fuzz pedal from, I will see if I can dig it up. If I remember, it didn't use clipping diodes, just a few inter-stages of gain.

DD-2 NIB a few months after they came out, and at the same time, a used blackback CE-2, and a new tu12h.
I sold the DD-2 with box papers a few years ago, and I only had sellers remorse for about 3 years. I replaced the DD-2 with a MIB (paid about $25 less than the regretably sold one) off eBay from someone who listed it without a pic and was 'selling it for a friend' couldn't freaking believe it - it arrived with the manual, and Boss Book #1 unread with no fingerprints and a perfect box. it was in minty new shape, compared to the one I originally had (which I used profusely over its life and had corrosion on the jacks and dings etc).
I have 4 DD-2s right now so I won't go through this again.
one has a minty case, but it repeats infinitely, the circuit does not see the feedback knob.
i just love those old dd-2s to pieces. every time I see one somewhere I usually buy it.
i wish there were more m&p music stores! |

| first pedal ever was a guyatone fuzz wah. first boss pedal was a mij hm-2 which was stolen about 2 years later together with a guyatone flanger that gave a lot of sound effects like plane diving and rocket ship takeoff. pretty wild like a roland? jet phaser. i promptly bought a new hm-2 but it was now mit.still rocks 20+ years later. now that i'm into modding, i'll try to bring back that fuzzwah alive again. |

Hey Kulten, that George Dennis wah looks cool. Reminds me of those old Morley's. Does this wah also have an LDR to control wah instead of a pot? |

| First pedal ever was an Electro-Harmonix LPB-2 back in the early 80's (when I was a drummer!?). I think my first Boss pedal was an OC-2. |

| First pedal - HM-2 Heavy Metal, which i'm having trouble finding at the moment, hope it turns up. Soon followed by a BF-2 (now sold) and a Guyatone PS-014 Dual Delay. |
