I've been somewhat interested in getting a multi-effects pedalboard for certain situations I'm working in currently. I've checked out and did research on quite a few of the Boss units. The ME-70 looks interesting but it simply has a little more built in than I really need. The ME-20 also looks interesting but I'm not sure I like the control layout. I like the fact however that the ME-20 doesn't have amp modeling...that's something I don't really need.
The ME-50 looks more like what I could use. I'm thinking that with the ME-70 on the market that Boss discontinued the ME-50...or at least I'm thinking I read that here. If that's the case I wouldn't mind finding one on the cheap.
Anyway...I went on a little long there, sorry 'bout that...does anyone here have/use an ME-50? This looks like one I could get into. The 70 has a pedal for compression; I would not be using this so there's no real need for me to get something I wouldn't use a lot of. So that narrows me down to the ME-20 and (preferably) the ME-50.
Any comments on these two would be appreciated. I already searched the forum threads and would like some new insights on these.

| I use a ME-50 at our rehearsel place. It sound good, it is easy to work with, ... I don't use the presets or save my sound, I just use it as a normal stompbox effect. The only thing which (I think) isn't practical, is the switching inside the expression pedal. I find it hard to quickly change from volume to wah & the other way around. |

| The guitarist of one of my bands uses a ME-50 and I have played it a lot (my cousin has one too). Very good sounds for the price and the size. I got an ME-50B myself so I can say it's very easy to control. IMO the ME-50 is the best all in pedal boss has ever made, at a very reasonable price. |

I kept my ME-50, even though the GT-Pro does everything it can & more. It's worth the $150 they go for these days just to have it in case I want to play through a regular amp. I wrote a review a couple of years back that I still agree with:

I read your review you linked...excellent read, thanks for that.
I would be using one as a regular board...not fooling with presets, memories, etc. Just as a standard pedalboard with everything together but with more to play with.
Still on the fence about it...not that I've seen one with that good a price(I've seen nothing under $200 yet. For a few bucks more I could get a new ME-70, but that's not what I'm looking for). |

The last 6 that sold on ebay went from $128.75 to $159.00 (+ S&H).
Those are the kinds of numbers I saw when I was thinking of selling mine, so I decided to keep it. I bought mine new. |
