I need to do a keyboard effect with guitar, 'cause we would like to re-arrange the tracks less electronics and more rock, so there's this song that has a keyboard with a sort of tremolo/echo effect.

Don't follow the one whos play melody, but the one whos play chords: F# Gdim C# Bb and so on...

I've tried with Behringer vibrato and the result isn't quite bad, but I can remember the TR2 (which I sold three years ago: sucker!) do it better. If you say that's true I'll buy it again... or alternatively could it be a delay?

Please help me, I'll appreciate demo clips too.

If it's a slow song what about doing synth type swells with a delay and some chorus...if you whack the effect level and the repeats up over halfway and set the delay to between 450/600 ms and use the guitar volume or a volume pedal to 'swell' the sound..ie...... play the chord at zero and turn the volume up quickly..i've used this in the past quite a bit.. sometimes i also mix in a bit of the TR-2 on my 'board..i love the TR-2 personally i think it's a great tremolo pedal and actually better than some of the tremolos on amps i've tried......

Hi Guys

There is a Aussie band JEt which has that sought of effect on keyboard to o ne of their songs "Bring It On Back". I think its delay because it is just repeating the same note over.

Whack is a slang term...it can mean to hit or slap... in musicial terms it usually means to turn up the volume or level..i.e "whack up the volume level on the marshall to 10".........

Yes seems to be the same effect I'm looking for.

The singer has a voice range shorter than an atom...

For what? It hasn't the effect that I need it for! Anyway I would like to have all BOSS pedals except MXR Mini Amp and Dunlop Cry Baby.

I've figured out something similar.

Have you ever used a Micro POG? It can easily replicate the sound of an "organ". I use it for the intro to PH's Whiter Shade of Pale -- and everyone is looking for where the keyboard is. If not for u, what Franzoni said is the best way to go IMO.

Slideman, I would like to obtain that effect, not that sound! We don't need to imitate a keyboard, trust me my keyboardist it's able enought to play the melody and do the chords both, but I would like to play that part with guitar.

The suggest that Franzoni gave to me it's very good but not applicable in a song full of chords (many dim) and with lyrics very very hard to sing... as you know the italian has a complicated and old grammar that can be good for opera, but for the pop/rock it's better the english IMHO.

How about waiting a few months and get the new Slicer?
I can imagine it would suit that song well.

I can wait 'cause I've must to finish the rock opera before (26th June!!!). It needs for a project that will begin after the summer... autumn...

Slicer? Sorry I've been away long time and I don't know what is.

I was talking about this one but with a deadline the Slicer is not an option.
Another wacky idea might be a SYB-3/5. You would get a pulsating synth type sound that could work well.

Twin pedal on my pedalboard? Jamais!!!

Seriously, it's so hard to have (what seems) a simple "repeat" effect with a Boss pedal in 2008? Seems to be strange that I've almost obtained it with a cheap Behringer...

well the behringer is modeled to be a clone of the Boss VB-2...so yeah. I'd look at other companies, for what you're looking for because boss just really doesn't have anything that fits quite perfectly. I play piano/keyboards and I know what you're talking about, but yeah why are you so set on sticking to boss???

A vibrato? Uhm... maybe.

At the moment I've two different situations in my musical world:

1. The rock opera where I bring just my mic, lyrics/partitures book and nothing else;

2. my rock group where I bring Strato and/or Les Paul (it depends if are rehearsal or concert) + pedalboard, cables, lyrics/partitures book. The pedalboard contains 8 pedals and the crybaby... God bless it it's very heavy, I won't add more heavy weight with a twin pedal, beyond all twin pedal has the space of two pedal so I've must to remove one pedal: which one?

Usually I'm joking, I have nothing against other brands pedals but I would like to have the same measures of Boss pedals, in my (almost) 29 years old life as guitarist I saw/own many pedals, effect and so on, sometimes with certain measures that are very excessive (Big Muff for all) and I can't bring a pedalboard large like the Law Tables of Moses and heavy like the dolmenn of Obelix! I'm becoming old and my neck aren't so good.
