I have an amp factory but I'm not sure I'm going to provide a good review because I'm not a great judge of these things. I picked it up for 60 a few years ago - the shop were selling it so cheap because the stickers on the top of one of the knobs which shows where it is was missing!
I can't say I was that impressed with most of the amp models. The more distored ones, such as "r-fier stack" sounds a bit fizzy but I didn't mind this. I wanted a decent clean sound and really like the JC clean setting. You can set up 2 alternative settings for each model. I then used an OD1 for overdriven sounds and I've always found this combination far better sounding than amp models.
I'd say settings like lead, black panel, tweed and brit combo sounded OK but the higher gain models could be quite horrible - although I didn't try them much.
I now have a GS10 and the amp models are in a different league though I still sti to the JC clean setting along with overdrive pedal, either real or virtual. |
