CAN$500 here...

http://www.legendarytones.com/TS808HW.html

The most interesting thing about this is the statement in the manual (paraphrasing) "the opamps are hand selected for the appropriate response". Interesting. It's all about the opamp. Wonder how many they have to test before they find one that sounds "right"?

Very pricey for Tubescreamer......a lot of the guys i've read about who use them, use stock, off the shelf versions...or possibly the Maxon version.....i think a lot of people are going for the SRV 'holy grail' tone but so many different things made that up not just his tubescreamers......amps and his guitar were a big part plus the biggest one was the man himself.........

I was real lucky and got a NIB TS808 reissue at the pawn shop for $100 quite a while ago. I posted it here so I could find out exactly when. I really like it, but I couldn't justify paying $500 for one. Not even if Samuel J. Ibanez wired it himself.

Did you get the "HW" or the regular? I got a regular one cheap because it was "dead" and it is pretty good.

Hi FRANZONI & Guys
I belive that is the DX model, the 4th knob is a selector switch,
that allows you to select different clipping diode combination.

I had one here for a while, but it seemed to be very touchy, with different guitars & amps.

I have a TS10 with a JRC4558 that I prefer & use now & then.

Regards Dr. Bob

could have been an ST-9 / Super Tube as well though.... although they are VERY rare.
