Yes, DD-20 is outstanding. I traded mine for a mint DM-3 and will buy DD-20 as soon as my wife permits it |

The reverse mode is outstanding when you use it with a very long time... The warp and the twist modes are also excellent when used in an experimental way, despite the fact that users often say they're useless....I don't agree with them : experiment and try new things !!
The sound-on-sound mode is cool too, and also the fact that you can program your delays in milliseconds OR in BPM, it's fantastic !
The analog mode is terrific too : I've got a deluxe Memory man that I don't use very often now...the DD does the same without the enormous amlount of hiss and buzzes....
And the Pan-delays.....I LOVE this box!! |

Hi Nibla, Goran & Guys
Has anyone here compared the DD-20, with the Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler?
I know there is quite a bit of difference in the prices, the DL4 is costlier. Is it worth the difference in price?
I'm not quite sure if I stole the thread, it's sort of related.

Yes Dr.Bob, it's related!
These two delays are quite the only solutions for someone who wants a modern digital pedal that also emulates old-school analog delays... So I said to myself: "Try something else that Boss, for once!"
I tried the line6 DL4, and I was very disapointed, the thing is made of cheap plastic, the price is huge, and the features aren't better than the DD20 at all: there is no screen to view your time (which is to me the best improvement of the DD20 upon other Boss dig.delays), and Line6 has tried to impress the musicians by giving them tons of delay-types, but very few of them are useable...exept the tape delay which is quite good.
Then I tried the DD20 and it's genuine twin system that allows you, well....everything...and the retro-light (cool in the darkness of a stage...)...and the tap-tempo-light (cool in the darkness of a stage...) and its useable sounds (cool in the... sorry...)
So I fell in love, and we went away together...and now I feel Giga-happy ! |

The Line 6 is made of metal I really like it, it models the delays accurately (although it doesn't model the noise on the Memory Man, I guess that's intentional) and the sampling capabilities are great which I believe the DD-20 doesn't have? I've never played a DD-20, but the Line 6 is a good, solid pedal, although the springs inside the switches can break. I think the best delay I've ever used though is my Deluxe Memory Man, it blows my DD-6 out of the water. |

Hi tomwest, Nibla, Goran & Guys
The mailman just delivered the (2) foot switch actuators for my DL4 that I got not working off EvilBay, last week. I am looking forward to putting it all back together, I fixed the electronic fault the day it arrived.
tomwest, mine had the dreaded missing, actually, I read on the line6 forum, that the left & right foot switch actuators just fall out, or have fallen out on a few users.
Mine had the right one missing, is it tap-tempo, Thanks for your comments on the DL4, I didn't specifically pick it for any reason other than it was in a faulty lot of pedals I found on EvilBay.
I will admit I really like the emulations, the only thing I was wary about, is how easily the knobs seem to turn. When you remove them, a task in itself, they have white washer stuck to the base of them, maybe to increase the friction on a new pedal So that the knobs don't turn quite so easily.
tomwest, do the knobs move very easily on your newer one, mine has done a trip around the cement mixer, if you know what I mean.
I got the manuals off the Web, mine is the DL4 v1.3 revision of the software, maybe if you get a chance take a pic of the inside of yours, especially the label on the small square micro or DSP.
Regards Dr. Bob |

I've seen the new RE20's description and I'm asking to myself what Real appeal this pedal has to a delay fan like me, as the DD20 already has a space echo and analog functions which are really outstanding...(plus a lot more but that's not the point here)
So what can be done more?

I had ordered a DD-20, I dont regret that I traded the first one, but I couldnt live without a DD-20... DD-20 is a must to make Fripp-loops, and I like that quite a bit... DD-6 dont have 100% feedback... When DD-20 came out it was a dream that had come true... |
