Hello all
Anyone here got any experience with boss/roland rack reverb units like the SRV330/3030 or the SX700....? and if so how do they stack up against the alesis,digitech,yamahas etc...and what is the RSS part of them like..is it any use...?....thanks.......... |

I�m interested too!
I have avoided racks (except the boss Micro racks) for guitar use all my life, but many are dead cheap now so I could probably give them a try.

i know your off on hols goran so i don't know if you will see this.... but i will let you know if i have any luck getting my hands on one of these and how it pans out....the POD rack i'm using at the moment has Line6's A.I.R. technology but i'm not sure how it stacks up against Rolands RSS...the reverb in the pod isn't bad but if i could get on of the Boss/Roland dedicated rack reverbs for a good price i will probably go for it....still use the pedals as well of course...!!.... |

I've also wasn't that interested in rack gear but recently I've picked a few units up, a SX-700 voor �80,- and a SE-70 for �125,-
Both exelent units, although the SX-700 is primary a studio procc. It needs some switchingtime, but its in my home W/D/W setup, so I don't care for a little latacy. The SE-70 is also a great unit, I use it for some pre- pre-amp effects, like a autowah, phaser compressor ed)
They both got a ducking function, great feature!!!
I think the roland 330 series are still quite expensive (not under 200 for what i've seen) so I can't compare them but there are shure a lot of good deals regarding rackgear these days! |

Have you tried the harmonizer effect on either the SE-70 or SX-700 and how good is it 's tracking..?..the rest of the band want to do some early steely dan/lizzy type stuff and i'm probably going to need some sort of a harmonizer and there is no way i can stretch to something like an eventide..... ..i'm looing for a rack unit rather than a pedal..... |

I have a SRV-2000 that has been my main reverb for over 20 years now.
I could not imagine my rig without it. This is how reverb is supposed to sound to me.
Not the units you asked about, but it is Roland and it is sweet. |
