For a while all Boss pedals came with a sticker on the box saying it was covered by a 5 year warranty. Does anyone know for how long these stickers were used and when they started using them?

The box for my MIJ DD-3 has the sticker, the box for my HR-2 does not. It doesn't tell you much but it's a start!

Do you know approximately how old those pedals are?
My CE-3 from about 1988 has it. My HM-2 from 1984 does not. My other pedals I don't know when they were new so it doesn't tell me anything.

I didn't buy them new but just going from your site the MIJ DD-3 is from sometime between 1986 and the move to Taiwan. The HR-2 is sometime after 1994.

I looked for appropriate thread for this question.

When does Boss pedals start to malfunction? None of my pedal have had problems, but only a few of them have reached the five years warranty period. None of my friends have commented me about problems with their Boss pedals either, the story is different with their Zoom-"I dont know what" multieffects.
A friend tell that his MT-2 was broken because the led was dead, even with a new battery, but it was only that he checked the pedal with nothing connected in the input jack, that is a very common situation.
