Nice one RRV-10. I'll be keeping an eye out too!
But let's not outbid each other
Pity the the photos are a bit blurry. Wonder what he'll have next. |

| Did you get the LM-2 yet? Does it live up to its description? |

Yep. What part of the description are you referring to? the like "new claim"? It has one tiny chip on the side somewhere that doesn't break through to the metal and there are two marks on the front right at the bottom. The box also had a few marks and things. I'm not a collector and bought it for use so wasn't worried. If I were a collector and took like new to be a synonym for mint then yeah, I might've been a little disappointed.
I was slightly disappointed about the fact that I was charged $32 shipping yet it was sent by $20.80 Airmail, and even with insurance (which he said he needed to charge for to avoid paypal fraud, though the insurance section of the customs form on the box was blank) it wouldn't have been more than $23.50. He could've easily have send it trackable EMS and still pocked $4. |

WTF!
That's bloody crazy. You seen HF-2s all the time, and they're generally in very good condition, and they usually don't go for more than US$70-80. Box and Manual are less common of course, but since when does box and manual equal a 300% price increase? I was watching it but deleted it when I went past $50. I thought best case it might get $80 or something.
Maybe he's getting his just rewards after a few of his earlier listings (including the LM-2 I snagged ) sold under value. |

They're not, generally. Granted I've never seen one NMIB, and after the HF-2 it wouldn't surprise me if it gets snatched up for the BIN. They're rare - I've been watching OZ ebay pedal auctions for around three years now and have only seen a handful (maybe 3 or 4), but they've never sold for more than AUD$100 (US$75) because they're perceived as being inferior to the GE-7. I suppose it's a bit like the NF-1 vs NS-2 - like the NF-1 the GE-6 is only really of interest to collectors, although I think Stratosphere says it's got mojo or something. I'd read they were very noisy compared to the GE-7 (which itself is often considered noisy). |

That makes me feel better, since i consider myself more as a user than collector
but now this HF-2....i passed one of those up for around $40-50 BIN too
I should really start to look into these deals before i decide against them |

Wow! I was just about to post a new topic about the copycat HF-2 and the original hmmonte one!!!!!
Un-bloody-believable!
I got mine for about AU$50 - all mint (pedal, box, manual)
Should I sell it...nah! I like it too much.
I'm watching the other now with interest though. |

Yeah a bit disappointing, I'll say... I think he must just be hoping for one of the "unlucky" bidders from hmmonte's auction...

That's clearly his intention. He's trying to artificially whip up a hysteria about the value of the pedal among noobs who know no better because they haven't mastered the ebay completed items search. I don't condemn the guy for trying to cash in, but list it at it's appropriate value ($120 tops) and hope for a similar result. Don't fraudulently pretend it really is worth by starting the bidding at the inflated price. |

Yes, I got outbid on the mint TW-1. I really wanted that manual! I bid the maximum I would go to, as I would also have shipping & VAT to pay.
I did want the pedal too of course, I would have liked to try it with another TW-1, I had some funny ideas to see if they would cancel each other out if set to opposite settings, or maybe combine and create one almighty wah effect.
I saw the GE-6 as it popped up last night and did ponder a purchase, but it was just too much for what it is, even if it is near-mint. For that price I would rather have a mint MXR Six Band. I got outbid for one of these as well a few days ago, I never realised how much they would go for. That seller has some really nice items though.
Another gem that appeared briefly last night was a PH1-r, I think it was $50 BIN, really good condition, and it was gone in seconds. I didn't feel too bad as I think it was US-Only anyway.

That seller for the HF-2 is unbelievable...
Says free postage, then says "BUT YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR OWN INSURANCE AT $12AUD (REQUIRED)."
So theres the postage right there. Then at the bottom "$11 Australia Wide postage, $15AUD worldwide Postage" So im sure the seller will say something about paying that too, even though it says free postage everywhere else.
It seems like the kind of person that will write $250USD on the declare form too (so it looks more impressive ), so youll be stuck with a shitload of taxes to pay when it arives.
And then the insane price over it all
I feel REALLY bad for whoever ends up buying that |
