Honestly, I don't think so.
It doesn't freeze enough and there's way too much snow.
Would be cool though, last time was in '97.

For those of you left clueless about the Elfstedentocht, here's some info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elfstedentocht

I think you are right, Dirk. A while ago the last winner of the Elfstedentocht (Henk Angenent I think) prospected the ice and it was way too thin, and as you say, too much snow. Maybe next year...

Sorry for the cancelation! My band is not even rehearsing nowadays so -5 celsius in Madrid doesn't bother us... As a band. I work in a big shop and I worked almost alone the last hour because I was the one who had it easier to get to home in the snow, as I live nearby. The rest had to go sooner to avoid complications.

This is what I could see at 2 o'clock throught my window

Wow...even spain is getting snow....i think us europeans need to get used to harder winters..this is the second year we have had snow in ireland but this year was much, much worse...more so because of the freezing tempertures it was -17 over in county clare...unheard of in ireland... that caused massive problems when everthing turned to solid ice especially on the roads.....before that i think it was 1982 and the last time we had a bad snowfall and the last time the temperture was so low according to the irish met office was 1963...

P.S.... Disco Stu..thanks for the offer bro' ....as you guessed i was only buzzin' with you but if this is going to be an ongoing thing every winter i will need to look at something as our city council and the government were pretty poor in their response to it all with salting and gritting the roads..BTW the big thaw has started and everything going back to normal....now for the poor people who were flooded and are still flooded in parts going to get it all over again.........

Yeah, I bet the people in Siberia laugh their asses off when they hear us complain.
The trains stopped riding here last week due to snow and frost, do you think the Transsiberia Express ever stopped?
I don't think so.

They call it global warming..
I call it global freezing.

I know..this country nearly came to a standstill over 200mm of snow... i had great fun handbraking around corners on a old unused industrial estate up the road as there was no-one out and about and the gig was cancelled..the snow wasn't the real problem it was the ice on the roads from the -5 to - 11 tempertures they were lethal...the snow actually helped the tyres to get a bite and make it a bit easier to drive and stop....

So Franzoni, what's your 'tyre' size on the cab ?? You need to have a set of these chains.

Maybe by summer I'll be ready to part with some overstock

Perhaps we can do a trade for your old dust-gathering pedals.
