Hi happyplucker & Guys
Thread is now sticky.
In Australia I tend to use: & I try to use purchase from local businesses.
Jaycar Electronics (In most capital cities) Components to finished goods. http://www.jaycar.com.au/
Altronics (In most capital cities) Components to finished goods. http://www.altronics.com.au/
Rockby Electonics (Springvale Melbourne) These guys have the strangest stuff at times, & have great clearance sales. As well as general component sales http://rockby.com.au/myindex.cfm
WES Components (Sydney) Hard to get stuff in lots of electronic fields. Video, TV, Cell phone parts. http://www.wescomponents.com/
Dick Smith sometimes (they have deleted most of their component stock now) http://www.dse.com.au/
Oritech. In Aust. Call 1800 444 344 For all my general & specialized tooling. Paul is my local rep. he can source literally anything, & he is a great guy to deal with. A family owned business that cares about it's customers.
Radio parts Group (Melb.) Components to finished goods. http://www.radioparts.com.au/
EvilBay now & again for odd things.
Now you guys know most of my secrets....
Regards Dr. Bob

Been using Small Bear a fair bit. Sometimes slow, but the parts have been fisrt class.

Also Roland Canada for genuine Boss bits - in the West they are in Vancouver: (604) 270-6626

I've used a lot of UK based suppliers. Most of my electronics work has centered around building valve amps. When you design everything yourself you often end up looking for components that no one stock. Example of somponents I've had problems finding are transformers with certain output voltages or odd dimension screws. Here's a the suppliers I can remember using.
http://www.bluebellaudio.com/ Small company. Great for valve amp parts like chassis, valve sockets, transformers etc. Great service. The owner even called me up after I received my order to make sure everything was ok.
http://uk.farnell.com Farnell is a global company that has a large stock. It's sometimes hard to find the right component because instead of pictures, it's just a link to the datasheets on their website. In many cases 25 components link to the same datasheet so I've had some misses when ordering here.
http://www.rapidonline.com/ This is where I order most of my parts. Not the biggest stock but quick delivery and good web site.
http://www.livinginthepast.demon.co.uk/ Good place for transformers.
http://www.schaeffer-ag.de I ordered a custom made front plate for an amp from this company in Germany. Very convinient that you can download a front panel designer software that shows you the price before you order.
http://www.stewart-of-reading.co.uk/ This is where I got most of my measuring equipment. If you don't need the newest and hottest equipment, you can find some real bargains here.
http://www.sowter.co.uk/ Have had a couple of customer made transformers wound here. It's quite expensive but necessary when no one else stocks what you're after.
http://www.maplin.co.uk/ This is the high street chain that everyone loves to hate. They sell a lot of low quality crap and is generally overpriced on most components. I've only ordered online from then once but there's a shop near me so I go there if I'm in a hurry to get something. |

I have searched these forums, done loads of googles and tried these site. Where do I buy a spare screw that holds the footswitch onto the spring for a boss pedal? The one you unscrew to change the battery.
I've also got a few additions to this list:
http://www.musikding.de/ - German based with English translations, I;ve used them and have no complaints
http://www.newtone-online.nl/catalog/ - Dutch with no English translations.. also no complaints.

They ship from the states, took 1 and 1/2 weeks for the components to arrive. Top quality packaging and components.
Free shiping if your order is more than 50 otherwise they charge 12.

Where can we purchase authentic Fulltone 3PDT footswitches with the brass shaft within the USA?
I've looked almost everywhere & they're just not available. |

Parts suppliers I have used in Australia (in no particular order):
RS Components have a lot of the hard-to-find components I use sometimes, like odd power plugs and sockets, etc.
http://australia.rs-online.com/
Oatley Electronics. Often find weird stuff, and clearances, etc.
