Any opinions on this? I play through a Roland JC 55 and when you crank the volume (with chorus on) it tends to get a little noisy. I'm wondering if this will kill that buzz, or is it just meant for pedal noise?

The NS-2 will not be able to handle any noise sources connected after the pedal. Does your JC 55 have an effects loop (My JC 120 doesn't). If it's connected in the loop it might be able to do something about preamp noise.

I'm not sure what the effects loop does, but I'll check it out if it has one later.

So the NS-2 should always come last in the chain?

It can either be last in the chain or you can connect effects into the NS-2's effect loop.
I think it's very effective and I much prefer it in favour of normal noise gates like the NF-1.

ya the ns2 will only help with noises such as feedback from lots of distortion. it will not help if you are getting noise from something like an old adaptor or an old amp that makes a buzzing noise on its own. personally, i use it first in my chain.

Would putting it first in the chain reduce amp noise?

If the noise is inherent in the amplifier, no... if something in the signal chain prior to the NS-2 is made audible as noise in the amplifier, possibly.
