I've never bought a new Boss pedal. I'm a pawnshop hound, and I've found most of them there.

MT-2-$35,pawnshop
GE-7-$25,pawnshop
DS-1-$18,pawnshop
BF-2-$40,pawnshop,MIJ
EH-2-$25,pawnshop
CE-3-$29,ebay
SD-1-$25,pawnshop
NS-2-I have 2 of these, one was 25 at a pawnshop, one was 40 on ebay.
HM-2-Traded a couple of Behringers,a Grunge, and an MXR for this and the next pedal
CH-1-acquired in above trade.
AW-3-$40-pwanshop
PH-3-traded an Ibanez CF-7 for it.

Well, I've spent 302, plus a few pedals I wasn't using.
I'm happy with my collection.
Still want a few more.

I have a pawnshop near me and the only pedals I've seen were Marshalls almost at the same price than retail.

Too much for some and not enough for others.

My worst was a MT-2 at retail price. But as a first pedal it was well worth the price, whatever that was. A couple good ones would be a boxed mij HM-2 for $40 and a $40 mij SD-1. Plus about 10 other pedals for $50, all boxed.

They are electrically and sonically identical to the MIJ. One of the few pedals that nearly everyone agrees that this is true for.
