just to make sure, do power on/off indicator LEDs in boss affect the sound? i changed the busted red LED of a ds1 to a yellow one since i ran out of red ones and kinda liked the different color there. i might change the other pedals to green, blue orange etc if it doesn't affect the sound of the pedal.
regards, ldr |

sure they do...
a blue LED makes a pedal sound colder a red LED makes it sound warmer a yellow LED makes the sound brighter and a green LED makes it sound more lively |

| that's just a psychological effect though and can't be measured. I still believe that the appearance of a pedal changes the sound to the person using and looking at it. |

Hey MullyFX Your reply had me ROTFL-MAO
So what about WHITE LED's?
Regards Dr. Bob
My theory is that White LED's neutralize all mods to a pedal's sound. Making the pedal Virgin-New (White) again.
Hey LDR I guess you figured out we are kidding, it will make absolutely no difference to the sound.
Unless you have calibrated Spectrum Analyzer/Scope ears like Zentropa (BTW we haven't heard from good old Zen in a while?) |

Nah, don't use white LED's. The pedal will sound clinically sterile. |

Nah not at all, white is about purity which in this case can, be related to purity of tone, unstained by cheap components and inferior design, you obviously knew exactly what you were doing! |

There are no absolute "best" LED colors for optimal tonal enhancement. The best-sounding LED varies with the model of the pedal.
- In the SD-1, blue sounds best.
- In the DS-1, green sounds best.
- I have found orange works well in my CE-2, but it's MIT so your results may vary.
- My BF-2 has the stock red LED, but that's because it's an old MIJ, and the LED is glued in.
- Purple in the Cry Baby.
I can't believe you guys don't know this stuff. |

ok. so what model numbers should sound good? 2? hm-2 dm-2 cs-2? how about 3? od-3? dd-3? here, before we play a pedal, we slaughter a white chicken and a lamb, wrap the pedal in new white cloth and sprinkel the mixed blood of the chicken and lamb on it. the spirit of the pedal will acquire mojo ;-]
