I built this pedal because I have a 1980 vintage Boss SG-1 that I just dont want to take out and use because it is so valuable.
This "VSG Swell pedal" is essentially an SG-1 that you can use, abuse, and take gigging without worrying about damaging the original.
Follow the link for the VSG Swell pedal on my web page: www.lauriepedals.com

It even has flush mounting nuts on the in-out sockets, just like the original.

I really like the textured box and the placement of the LED. "STOMP ON THE LIGHT!"
That SG-1 is very beautiful as well... |

I wish!! Nah, it's because I have a couple of weeks spare to finish things I've been working on for a while.
"Stomp on the light"... yeah, I thought long and hard about LED placement on the lauriepedals (they are all the same configuration). I came up with the same thing... on a dark stage, what is the most useful? So I put the LED close to the footswitch. it is close enough that you will never accidentally hit the LED (and it doesn't matter if you do occasionally - it is tiny and tough), plus it is far enough to the left that you can see it from almost any angle.
"Stomp on the light" - can I use that?
Current schedule is for it to be available for sale late January. Cost to long-term BossArea members will be about $120 (it is a bit time-consuming to make).
zerk - videos are coming. Don't want to put crap up so I'm taking my time.

Nice Laurie. I like the all-black look of the pedal. |

Thanks! I wanted the look to be a "tribute" to the original. |

| You could also do an NF-1 clone of the same circuit, since they're related. |

Indeed they are. But NF-1's are cheap and nobody minds if they are a little beaten up |

lovely!!
I know I'm asking a bit too much, but, in theory, could you make an SG-1 based reverb? I mean, with those two effects you could create a string-like effect in the same stompbox, couldn't you?
I really like the slogan or motto 'stomp on the light'! |

That's an interesting idea, but I am, by choice, only working in the analogue space right now (apart from spring reverbs, most reverbs are digital).
You could do it by putting an FRV-1 after it... interesting thought I will try it |

nice! Could you make a demo of it, if you get the chance? I don't think I can find one on youtube... I'm not in a hurry, though, I could wait until tomorrow morning
(I'm assuming you have an FRV-1) |
