The keyboard on my workstation is finally starting to Cr@p out on me. Dam! - Keys are going intermittent all over the place.
Left Shift key is by far the worst. So if you start seeing heaps of all lowercase posts, you will know what's going on.
I'm still in the process of pre-qualifying, & setting up my new workstation. But it's not quite ready yet.
No "Smarty Britches" comments from you Laurie. (Laurie has some inside information the the pre-qualifying & testing period).

That sucks Bob.
2 and a half years ago the power supply in my computer litteraly exploded, taking almost everything with it to kingdom come, the motherboard, processor, both Hard drives, the memory banks, and the keyboard as well. Needless to say, all my non-burned-to-DVD files were gone too.
The only things left working were the mouse and monitor. So I know how you must feel. |

Maybe there was some kind of low-grade EMP which swept the globe? Sunspots? the PC here died too.. I hope I can pull the hard drives and dump everything important off. Now the wife is finally using my trusty old G4 laptop. |

My trusty PC crashed last year as well..i know very little about computers and i'd rather be poking around the inside of a valve amp... and i couldn't swear to it but the Brother in law installed a CD Burner in it and it was never the same after that..anytime i hooked up my Tascam 8 track to it via USB and tried to burn the mixed down track to disc it crashed the whole thing.. eventully one day it just wouldn't come back on so we had to buy this laptop....
P.S..i'm going to start backing up stuff from the tascam on my vintage Akai reel to reel.... ... |

Hmmmmmm REEL to REEL Love them. Hey Franzoni Please drop over one time & check out my collection of these beauties, I even have (now 2) Classic Value ones. Ant least 2 or 3 of them are Akai's. One of the bigger Akai's even has their famous Crossfield Heads.

Hi Doc..
since this is your topic i'm sure you won't mind me going OT for a moment..i have two reel to reels..a sony and a akai...the sony pulled out of a skip and carried for about a mile one night after being out for drinks with Mrs F... ..the Akai is in better shape,in fact it is mint condition and when i opened it i found the valves inside were original mullards.... .....i'll take some pics if you want.... |

Hmmm... yeah.... What I think Dr. Bob might have been saying in his original post is that 6000+ posts might have worn his keys out
Hey Dr.Bob - you need a PC... that crappy Mac is wearing out way too fast |

| I would figure after about 6000+ posts his keyboard would be falling apart, I am surprized that you can even read the keys anymore |
