I have a NS-2 that is mint and never used.
Could you tell me a little more about the CE-3?

it works flawlessly. the only physical flaws are some paint chips, the back plate is missing its label(but the MIJ sticker and serial number are in the battery compartment ). also no box or manual.
its actually pending at the moment though for a guy on the HC forum but i havent heard back from him yet. if it doesnt work out, and youre still interested, i would be happy to trade with you.

Nope, not me on HC.
Does it have the normal V shaped 3 knob controls? Also if it has the 3 knobs in a row, white or black knobs?
Also any experience shipping to the US from Canada? I have no idea what it would cost any idea?
Thx

hey bud. ok, upon CLOSER inspection, you are not the guy from HC.
you both just happen to live in the same state and have NS-2s for trade.
like i said, i already told him i would trade him first, but if that happens to fall through, i will definately send it your way. he said he has to get it from the jam room first and could take up to a week, but i will let you know.
my CE-3 is the black knobbed version. i think all CE-3s have the straight across knob style. serial # is 704200..Sept. 86. i have done numerous trades to america through ebay, this site and HC. theyve all been successful. shipping usually costs around 8 -12 bucks. |

I was looking at the main page of bossarea and it says that they switched to the V config later on. Maybe I misread it and the later models did this. Either way no biggie, just wondering.
E-mail me if the other thing doesn't work out.

I read that paragraph again and it can be misleading so here's a quick summary of 3-knob history.
3 in a row was tried out on the CE-3 but was found not to work very well so the next 3-knob pedal designed (DM-3) went back to use the V formation. The CE-3 maintained the 3 in a row design throughout its production span.
On the DM-3 they still kept experimenting as they used the skirt knobs instead of the common knobs used on the DM-2, SD-1 etc. The next 3-knobbers released was the CE-2B and LM-2B. The CE-2B was for a while available with the skirt knobs used on the DM-3 but was then replaced with the knobs used on the 4-knob pedals instead.
Not until the BD-2 was released 1995 did they get back to he original design. The SD-1 and DS-1 had of course not changed during these 13 years so the changes could not have come about because of part shortages. |
