I use a Cioks Double John (5x9V and 2x12V outputs) and daisy chains when needed. This is a great power supply, small and well filtrated. I also have a couple of Boss PSA´s. I stay away from switched supplies with the exception of the one supplied with Boss BCB-60, all of them make some digital pedals (more or less) noisy. But the Boss works fine, I don´t know why. All my vintage-styled fuzzes always uses batteries, zink-carbon, they sound much better this way. And some of them have strange polarity (or something, it has nothing with positive and negative to do) and doesn´t work together with “normal” pedals. Stinkfoot has wrote about this phenomen somewhwere.

Goran, Cioks make the carl martin big johns as well. Have you bought any additional power supply-pedal leads for it? if so, how much were they? I need a couple more. |

Powersupplies are not sexy, they do not sound funky and they are just a necessary tool to power up your pedals.
Like most of you I have quite a few and like with many things I have made the mistake of buying several of them as well.
Mostly I use daisychained PSA's, but really any good regulated powersupply will do the job.
I just wonder why some of you have so many. I my case I used to think that the PSA/ACA were the best ones for Bosspedals, but really any good regulated one will do the job.
Best pedals are still the ones which come with build-in powersupplies, like the old style Boss ones and the Electro-Harmonix ones. |

Well, the reason for me having 3 ACA's is that back in the day I couldn't get PSA's, or maybe they didn't exist, or maybe I wasn't aware of them and the difference between 'em. But I did notice that when using multiple pedals daisychained on a single ACA things would hum like crazy, and that's why I bought 3 separate ones to solve the humming problem. Btw, I got one of 'em 2nd hand for a bargain price. Look how I solved it on my first pedal board in the pic below: Wall outlets screwed to a board for the ACA's, the black box is a homebuild PSU for the wah. Ah, to hell with it, ignorance is bliss

| A real mixed bag. I still use the one that came with my BCB-60 because it hasn't broken yet, but I had two Boss PSAs die in a coupleof years and decided that enough was enough. I now use Ibanez 200 mV and Danelectro Nn-Hum supplies for my other pedal boards, and a Casio one I got with my Korg G4 years ago (the store had lost the box, adapter & manuals so I got it NOS for about US$55) with my ME-50. The Danelectros work great and are the cheapest I can find that are regulated. |

Just spotted this:
http://www.biyang.com.cn/Products.asp?Id=55
Looks interesting. I've got a couple of their pedals, and they're pretty good - I wonder if the ACA sockets are like the old type? And it seems the first two sockets are meant for daisy-chaining. No price on their site though. |

| I use a One-Spot power supply with two 5-plug daisy chains. They are cheap and durable, plus the right angle connectors allows me to fit two rows of pedals in my transport case. |

I use PSA 120, daisy chain, but feed it thru a PSM-5.
I have 5 brand new ACA 120G if anyone wants to buy one. LOL. |

I use a Godlyke Power-All (identical to the 1-spot AFAIK), and a couple old slanty ACAs. I was worried they were the new, useless kind, but they power my archaic stuff no problem. |

The single ones are about US$4 the double about $6, there are diffrent lenths but that don´t raise the prise very much. Good quality! |

Currently running (3) One Spots and a few proprietary adapters. I personally limit my One Spot adapters to only run 8 pedals, if I needed more power, I bought another One Spot kit. My reasoning is to make sure the pedals ALWAYS have enough power & I'm not taxing the shit out that small awg wire. I would not care to start a fire underneath or anywhere near the pedalboard.

Yes Dirk,
Ignorance is bliss oftewel onwetendheid is.................
but it is great to know that a daisychained PSA will power almost anything, that is, if you know how to connect them [ACA pedals combined with PSA pedals]
I guess a lot of us have had these issues in the past, thinking you may need separate adaptor for certain pedal.
The whole issue of PSA/ACA is a great example how good this site can be with informing people about particular issues. |

I use this thing: http://www.burkey.nl/Flatliner%20SIX.html
for almost all my pedals and it works great. It has 6 isolated and regulated outlets, all adjustable in steps to 9, 12, 15 or 18VDC each @ 100 m
But I need a seperate power supply for my nova delay 12V 300mA and one for my Digitech XP100 whammy wah 9v 500mA
So 1 power block and 2 separate power supplies.
Before I had the Flatliner SIX I had 5 power supplies on my board: 1 one spot + daisy chain for most pedals, 1 Boss PSA for my RC-2 (because it hummed when daisy chained), 1 for my MXR falnger (12 volts) and 1 for the Nova and 1 for the Whammy.
So big improvement there |

Hi Some Weird Sin
Nice looking Brick. Does it have an internal transformer, or an external wall wart type P/supply?
Regards Dr. Bob |
