now i emailed the guy because the first link looks like a neck pickup due to the adjustable pole pieces but he reassured me that it is indeed the p/u for sale...

now the second link is for a neck p/u but looks like the bridge one...

am i wrong? i don't want to bid and get the wrong p/u if this guy is confused!

They only make one model of JB and don't differentiate between neck and bridge. They DO make an F-spaced JB called the TB-4 (trembucker).

The Jazz IS a bridge model. He's wrong calling it an SH-2n.

Now, it's possible he got the wrong pickup in the box he ordered (I have seen this more than once), but more likely he just bought the wrong one unknowingly (stupidly?).

Nope, the jazz is a neck model.
Dave Mustaine used it for years for his clean Megadeth tones in the neck position with a JB in the bridge for crunch rhythms and leads.

I may have mis-worded my reply..

The Jazz is available in BOTH bridge and neck models (SH-2b and SH-2n). On the auction pup, the placement of the adjustable poles suggests a BRIDGE model, however you could use it in the neck..

The Duncan website isn't so clear with pics of bridge/neck variances, but the Jackson site shows the SH-2n in the neck of an RR-1 Rhoads, with the adjustable poles on the bobbin WITHOUT the Duncan logo - unlike the pup in the auction. The JB, on the other hand, doesn't get an "N" or "B" designation and always has the screws with the duncan logo.

Are duncans really expensive in Aus?? Those prices seem a little high to me..

EDIT: I believe he just switched the pictures. I should have realized that immediately.... If you bid, make sure the JB has the adjustable poles on the bobbin with the logo. They should be labelled on the back as well... good luck!
