YES!! DM-2 described as "very good" but with fuzzy pics. When it came these were the issues:
- missing base screws - bent thumbscrew - pots all tampered with - ROUGH repair to circuit board - knobs looked so bad they had to be replaced

yes, many times... ranging from grossly misrepresented items (e.g., the on/off footswitch is shot, even after explicitly asking if it works and being assured it did); the use of a stock photo without noting it is a stock photo (the actual item was in lesser condition); missing hardware; shoddy packing jobs (who ships a $100 pedal in a paper envelope?); excessive S&H (e.g., charging $20 for shipping a pedal in the USA, back in the days before shipping costs were required to be shown up front) and still taking a week to even ship the item; and never receiving items (thus far, a 7" record and a CD).
that said, I'd estimate that less than 3% of my transactions as a buyer were less than satisfactory. and since most of the items I've bought lately are no longer available new, you really have no choice but to turn to places like eBay. |

Yep. - pedal works fine; arrived with audible and very annoying click on and off - the ce-3 guy "used barely by ME" crap - i bought a CD-player with interface cable for my car; never came with interface cable hence, useless ... seller promised to mail me $25USD, never did, I still chase them - bought a $209.00 printer, never got it, got my $200.00 paypal money back, but after exchange it was only about 180.00 because I'm in Canada; seller 'disappeared' and never refunded the extra shipping so I am out about $80 on that deal. perfect scam ... list for $209, so buyer has confidence to bid with paypal protection, pay for shipping through paypal so seller can prove you bought shipping, and keep the 209 for yourself. The USPS website NEVER recorded receiving the item too, only that the shipping details were entered electroncially, so in the eyes of eBay, the seller shipped it, but the seller walked off with $210.00 of the $266 is sent them. Not a bad investment for them $56 spent, get $210 back. a$$hole! |

| ... for 150 + transactions and basically being able to pay for all my pedals by reselling stuff on eBay, i am way ahead money and gear wise, so no real complaints. just always do your diligence no matter what, can't avoid the scam, but maybe you can reduce it. |

Hi neala
Please don't type in upper case (only) It's difficult to read, & in the net/forums, it's also considered SHOUTING or that you are ANGRY.
Mostly though, it's difficult to read.

I haven't really been cheated on ebay. There have been a couple of times when the item was obviously mis-described and the seller offered to cancel mutually cancel the auction in one case and the other offered a refund (still out postage though).
I try to be very careful by asking lots of questions and looking at their feedback. It's amazing how much you can learn about a seller based on how quick they respond and how much they tell you when they answer a question. I asked one guy about pick ups and he said 'no pick ups since he worked in the country'. So I replied saying 'I often work in parts of the country so what town are you close to'. I don't actually work in the country at all but the fact that I didn't get a reply to my second question spoke volumes to me.
My other pet gripe is about photos! Why can't people actually put a photo of the thing they are selling on ebay. Better still a picture that's not taken from space and is blurry like there was grease on the lens!!! This is even funnier when I'm looking at camera gear! Surely these photographers know how to take a photo! Then again that might be why they are selling!!!

| as a followup, I have not been cheated since eBay's feedback policy change (sellers cannot leave negative or neutral feedback).... it will be interesting to see if this policy helps weed out the idiot sellers. |

I bought a DD-6 from a guy who had a shop on ebay. the description said new so i just assumed it was.
Pedal came and there were a few small scratches and the instruction stickers had bee applied. I got in touch with the guy but what he had failed to mention was that the pedal was a store demo.
I did manage to return it and get a refund and the guy was helpful, until i recieved feedback from him and he called me a jerk!!! I was actually confused as to why he'd done this. |

I had problem with my three last pedals.
TW-1. The spring was missing and someone typed his ID-nr and name right beneath the thumbscrew..
PH-1. The back was missing.
OD-2. The back was missing.
