I didn't realize GC and MF were the same. I havn't been to a GC in a little while, and it makes sense that they would do online sales. But I gotta tell ya, for all the discounts they can give you( they bulk buy), I miss the smaller family owned shops. Here in Philly we had a place called Medley Music. You'd go in there and the smell of old wood and new guitars was just intoxicating! It was a bunch of small rooms, and yeah it was cramped, but it was just the coolest place. They carried a lot of stuff the big boys wouldn't , because they couldn't move it quick enough. I got most of ny Z Vex pedals there, and it was the only place I saw, and got to play Dr. Z amps. A Sam Ash and Guitar Center went up and they were gone with in 2 years. A place steeped in history, from the 40's, many famous musicians played and shopped there. Now just a great moment in time. |

Could be, although I doubt it. They had a massive liquidation in Dec. 08, right after the economy crashed. They were located on Lancaster Ave. right next to Pizzi's Pizza in Bryn Mawr. R.I.P. |

| Hey guy's. I'm nearby in Roxborough. Did you know Medley was the first place in the U.S. to import Ibanez back in the 70's. The first tube screamers in this country came through Medley. |

Hi dewey616, welcome to another local boy! That doesn't surprise me about Medley, as they were always looking for the next hot thing instead of chasing trends. Wish I had known SRV was going to use the TS, I'd have invested in a few! There's still a few small guys around, but not like the old days. That's progress! |
