Are the newly reintroduced models still made in Sweden?

No they are made in Korea (or China?)
In Sweden Hagstrom for many years had a bad reputation by us playing rock, Hagstrom was for oldies playing traditional dance music. But that has changed over the years.
You can still find Hagstroms i Sweden at fairly low prices, many was sold during the years.
I once bought a Pearly Hagstrom solid body from the late 50īs for about $10, this was in the mid 70īs. I sold it to my best friend for $20 and thought I made a really good deal... He still have it....
But the old Hagstroms had really bad pickups in my opinion, but was well built.

Unfortunatley the new Hags being made in China are far from the quality they put in the original Hags. The new finish feels like plastic, not the polyester they used in the past.
Resonator fretboard...is that swedish for plastic? (ikea...)
Original owners in the Hag forum aren't impressed by the new line either.
Owning a '80 Swede myself, it sounds and handles like a dream.
Even my friends like playing it. The Custom 58 humbuckers really packs a punch too.
Sorta can say the same for the single coil pups on my '65 H-II(SG body w/Fender headstock) Nothing like a Strat tho.

If your going to go Hagstrom, go vintage.

But to answer Goran's original question, Custom Shop Tele all the way

Pretty cool guitars, but I dont get this part;
Price As Shown: $7100 Canadian
Approximately: $6070 U.S.
I guess the site hasn't been updated for a while, no way a Canadian made guitar will be a thousand bucks cheaper in the States when the dollar is at par. You might have to save another G-note, Right Foot Boss
