Yes, it's definitely been replaced. When they started making PN-2s the serial number was already on the back label. |

yup, there appears to be a slot there for the old style large A/C receptacle.
I'm such a fan of people changing parts on pedals. |

| Someone bought it. Either they do not know or do not care about the label, I think they perhaps do not know... |

I contacted buyer - heres some of what he replied:
"I know what bossarea says, thanks for you interest, but more than one time they were wrong. Boss PN2 was sold from 90 to 95 and maybe the first production was made i japan(i have a Boss DC2 made in taiwan, bossarea says only MIJ)."
Bossarea wrong? Blasphemy!! Which reminds me of a favourite Monty Phyton quote: "No one is to stone anyone not even - and I want to make it absolutly clear - not even if they do say Jehova" if I remember correctly
Btw nice spotted by starr36 'bout the slot for A/C receptable.

There are some missing label information on the site but I don't regard that as "wrong" information. A lot of you guys on the forum here has helped me correct lots of these but undoubtfully there's still a few left.
What the PN-2 seller should have done was to post pictures of both his PN-2 and DC-2 on the forum and we could have helped him verify the validity of his bottom plates and perhaps also gained some new information along the way. |

| From the buyers response, it sounds like he is either hoping it is some sort of unique item, or he is just trying to justify spending over $150 on a pedal that might not be what it is. I will not be surprised if it pops back up on eBay with new text about it. If possible, it might be good to have a place on the forum where pedals that are either misrepresented, altered, or are not what they seller claims them to be, are shown so that other people can be aware of pedals with questionable features or authentcity. That way, whenever something odd comes up, you can check the "questionable" list and see if someone is just trying to unload some garbage they picked up a few months ago. I know that this is sort of what the eBay forum is for, but if there was just a spot that had any questionable pedals listed, it might be convenient. Just a thought. |

| Yeah another thing to note is that the PN-2 was designed to be used witht the PSA series adapters, but the label from this particular one is a japanese label saying to use the ACA adapter. Also, the seller has another one up for sale and it has the same picture as this one, so the winning bidder may actually receive one with the correct plate? Funny thing is even the auction says made in Taiwan, using the info from this site. |
