Hi there guys,
I have one question that been bothering me for quite sometimes. Here goes nothing. Recently i got myself a used Boss SD-2 pedal and it's working perfectly fine. Im curious as there is one part whereby we can plug it in with a footswitch controller to the remote pot. Im wondering whether as the above subject functioning as FS-5L too? The reason i ask it because it stated in bosserea that one has to use FS-5L to execute the switching thingy from clean, crunch and lead. Wonder whether other brands out there can be use to substitute and serve as the same function as the above matter. Any suggestion and recommendation is much appreciated.

| You can use any standard on/off footswitch. It does not have to be a Boss model. |

| FS-5U is an unlatched or momentary switch and is only on if the switch pedal is held down. The FS-5L is a latched switch if you press it stays on until you press again. But as ironman28 says any brand of latched switch will work. |

| Saw a posting way back about how some guy used a sewing machine pedal as a momentary pedal, guess it is that simple |

Cant remember the link, or where I saw it. But I'm pretty sure its a simple stereo jack that closes the circuit when the pedal is pressed. You'll need to add a RTS jack to the sewing machine pedal, but not sure or the wiring.
Found this too... http://www.diyguitarist.com/DIYStompboxes/SewingMachinePedal.htm

$50, no tax, no shipping at Sweetwater: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FS6
You can have both as tap-tempos to different Boss pedals, control an RC-2 Loop Station, great possibilities. |
