depending what kind of paint he used, a bit of thinner or nail polish remover will take that white paint right off and not harm the orange DS-1 paint. chances are he just used a cheap spraypaint that will come right off
i got a CE-2 dirt cheap a few months ago but it was covered in red paint. i got out the nail polish remover and went to work. within an hour the red was all gone and the baby blue was untouched. im lucky the previous owner used cheap paint.
but it looks like the rubber footpad is missing off this one but i would say its definately restorable. |

They are supposed to be of similar quality as Bosspedals, a while ago there was a thread here about amdek, found it just by change as I was also looking at them. You need to search a little, but yes, I think they are fairly good pedals.
Hi visserman & Guys Amdek pedals were sold as screw together kits, if my old memory serves me correctly. The PCB was assembled & tested, you just had to put it all into the suppled case.
I used to get a UK mag Called "Electronics & Music Maker international" I am looking at the Nov 1981 edition, right now, It was full of great build it yourself projects, some even done with Veroboard. The ZX81 computer was still new & exciting. Rolands NEW GR-300 Guitar Synth was reviewed. Adrian Legg, had a column on guitar hot wiring. There was a review & take apart of the Casio MT-30 keyboard. It was the 12th Harrogate International Festival of Sound.
And my Oldest son had just turned 5 months old.
Back in 1981, Amdek pedals were advertised on the rear cover of the mag,
I still have the mags, maybe I can take a pic, & upload it?
I Have about 2 years worth of the mags, I will go through them, & see what guitar & music projects, I can find.
Regards Dr. Bob

That sounds like fun, did not know they did things like that there. I live about 15 miles away from Harrogate, great place for busking and watching the birds But now it also seems that it is one of the places to visit if you are into your effects. Great
Hi visserman
I read a bit of the article on the Harrogate International Festival of Sound. It seems that it was a, stereo & HiFi type show, you have to also remember that the 12th one was WAY BACK in 1981
I would have a clue if it was still running. History can be a funny thing.
The projects that are in these mags are great, but as time went on, the mag turned into, more & more of a finished musical goods type mag, with little or NO PROJECTS.
It was a real pity, as I used to so, look forward to reading it every month. They had real interviews with some very famous for the time musicians.
I have made special effort to preserve my copies. they were plublished by: Maplin Publications 282 London Rd, westcliff.on.sea Essex. SS0 7JG
Maybe the info is no longer copyrighted, or I could get permission to scan & upload some of the project. As I said there are some great projects in these mags.
Do you know if Maplin Publications, publish any other mags you might have seen, visserman. Perhaps they have a new address?
Regards Dr. Bob PS --- Send photo's of the birds, your watching..
