On saxes I like Dick Heckstall-Smith (Colloseum, Graham Bond Organization, John Mayall) a lot, hes quite amazing, one of a kind.
I like John Wettons bassplaying, King Crimson, UK too name a few of his bands.
Little Walter is the ace harmonica player.
Miles D on trumpet, I could go on... and on...

Might be a bit ordinary but I like Phil Collins as a drummer/singer/producer (especially his work with Eric Clapton)

Cheers

wow where to start...

Merzbow - computer
Masonna - ungodly noise / vocals
Aube - makes music from sourcing one thing like water, heartbeats, ice, and sounds nothing like it
Chris Watson - field recordings and computer
Peter Rehberg - computer
Alva Noto - minimal electronic without the use of sequencers
Ryoji Ikeda - i actually have no idea what he does but it doesn't sound like anything i could make
Philip Jeck - he plays old/broken turntables that he repairs and trashed vinyls, amazing

i've said enough, thinking about this makes me depressed...so limited are my skills, haha...

ok so this guy uses guitar but this is my second fav. record of all time and one to take note of in electronic music for it's use of noise and melody...

Fennesz - Endless Summer [2001]
http://www.mediafire.com/?vjgsbyc8dxt

so i think this is a pretty heavy start esp. if you've never listened to stuff like this before...so if you like anything or want more just let me know i'll send you a few more links...and i mean there are wiki links for each of these artists if you'd like to know more...and there are alot experimental/noise musicians who mainly use guitar that i can recommend later like Tim Hecker and Oren Ambarchi to to name a few...

so there you go...sorry for the hard drive destruction...haha...

So which is your Number one favorite?

I downloaded some of the linked files -- still listening, but it's all interesting.

Apologies for the self promotion.
Did you ever get to listen to my experimental track called Lynbrook?

Regards Dr. Bob

Hi Heart and Soul

The thread & links are way back here:
http://www.bossarea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3498

The main link is:
http://www.technical-services.com.au/DrBob/

There's a couple of different tracks there.
The connection can be a bit slow sometimes, Lynbrook is about 10M.
Let me know, what you think.

so i gave that track a go...i dig it, really chill, i'd call it an electronic track before an experimental track but those can be pretty close terms anyway...in either case i was impressed...

what was the setup when it was recorded?...

here's a link to some of my stuff...

http://www.myspace.com/haddadmusic

there's a blog title discog/releases that has all the links for the dl's...try them out if you want or are bored...

Hi Heart and Soul

I liked some of your stuff.
But I guess my old ears, still need a little acclimatization, to the more percussive & noise based tones & sounds.
