The LED light on my CE-3 comes on, and the chorus is running everytime I power my pedal board without me stomping to turn it on. This happens even when there is no cable plugged into the input side of the pedal. No battery, just the power cord is connected to the pedal. Is this normal for this pedal, or is there a problem? All the other pedals work fine. Very annoying to have to stomp the thing off everytime I power up. Thanks for any information you may have to help me. Ron

Yeah its normal for a Boss pedal to power up when power is applied, iirc there's something about switching around one or two components to 'fix' this.

Is this really a fix,so to speak? I have several pedals, including all four of my DM-2s, that do this, and I notice no ill effects from it at all. Why fix it if it isn't "broken"?

Inquiring minds wanna know...

I read that the FET (transistor), near the input stage?...needs to be turned around. Anybody know where that is located on the board? Thanks. Ron

I found funny that only some of my pedals would come on when I switch on the power supply, but others won't. I have 6 pedals, 4 of which are Boss and three of them powers up, but the EH-2 stays off (just the one I leave on all the time).

Some of them do light up when i hit the power bar, but unless its an overdrive/distortion type pedal, i don't bother silencing it.
I turn on my amp last anyway

Yeah, doesn't bother me either.

Although out of over 20 pedals only 2 of them power up in the effect on state. So I seem to be a lot luckier than some people.

+1, my OC-2,SP-1, and GE-6 do the same. Only prob. is the SP-1 and GE-6 are momentary LED, so sometimes I'm wondering "why all the EQ?"...then I remember!
