hey guys... i finally decided to join here and share my nasty vice with all of you

i've been using good ol' boss pedals since day one; started out with my dad's old ('78 IIRC) OD-1 which i still have. and since then i've been hooked to these little "cars" as we call 'em down here.
i've had and sold about ever imaginable roland and/or boss pedal, but then i get those weird seasons when i sell most of them - and regret it later on!

well now i have 2 "new" old pedals on the way, and they should arrive this week; a nice nice PH-1 with original box, and a 1st edition TW-1 (Touch Wah, NOT the usual T-Wah!) - YAAY!

they will join my old MIJ family: the before mentioned OD-1, my two SD-1 ('81 & '85) and CE-2 (forgot the year), as well as a newer OD-2 and CS-3.
i also have a chance to get an old MIJ CE-1, are these any good? (ok which boss pedal isn't? heh heh)

i'll post pics later... i just wanted to say hello and share my joy.
rock on guys!

Pat.

Hi there,
I can see why guitar pedals might be called 'cars', in fact I was just reading about those micro Ibanez 808 clone pedals that are literally the size of a matchbox toy car, I've seen them on Ebay.

I don't have a CE-1 but it's regarded by some as the best Boss Chorus (or indeed any Chorus), above even the CE-2 and DC-2. I suppose it depends on the sounds you prefer. It's very collectable, and quite expensive.

Looking forward to seeing your collection pics, it's always good to see them.

thanks for the reply!
oh good golly, sorry i messed up, the pedal i meant is not the CE-1 but the CS-1 Compression/Sustainer.
i know the CE-1 and i once had the chance of getting one for around 100 bucks and was stupid enough to decline. oh well, maybe someday...

i'll post the pics as soon as the other 2 arrive... oh yeah!
thanks and sorry again, for the confusion.
rock on!

Pat.

Hi and welcome...

A PH-1 with a box is a great catch... These rarely come with the box.

Welcome Pacafeliz.

Regarding the CS-1, I greatly prefer the LM-2 or CS-2 for compression.

hello guys, thanks for the warm welcome... i'm sure we'll have a great time over here. as a humble present, the 1st round is on me!

yep i'll take some pics in a while just have to wash the dishes first (ah yeah, the beauty of marriage hahaha!)...
i haven't built a "pedalboard" per se for now, as i keep changing pedals constantly. sometimes it's only an od (SD-1, that is) and wah, and sometimes i hook like 12 of them together. it's all about being able to CHOOSE, right

ok, i'll be back in a little while. c u later guys!
Pat.

ps: i am in Puebla, Mexico. that's a really nice colonial city with pretty much nothing to do... *sigh*
i've been living here since '99, and now that i got married, i think i'm here to stay haha. but later on me further on...

oh i forgot to post what i have on my "board"...
man yeah i need to build myself a decent pedalboard... or anything better than what i have: NOTHING!

yeah it's been getting more massive since we started swapping the bass in the band (but hey the bassballs is a GREAT pedal for guitar!). i need more cables and a power supply too (hmm how 'bout one of them Boss PSM units?), or else i'm gonna be broke in a few weeks.

but this is basically what i'm gonna be using on saturday. maybe thow in the Coron Space Machine, too...

i have been using my beloved MIJ Squier Strats for years now, but right now i'm in love with my latest find, the '73 tele deluxe (also the butchered '64 jazzmaster). i think i'll take both of them along this time. no strat for me, for now... heh heh

rock on!

Pat. (ok enough pics from me today, or i might get kicked out... or so...)

surprised to see the BassBalls - had one 25+ yrs ago that died, remembered it being cool but plugged a bass into one recently & thought it sucked horribly - but would never have thought about using it with a guitar
