Wouldnt it be awesome if boss released touch-up paint pens(or nail polish bottles) in all the colours of the stomp boxes theyve released. I bet everyone here has at least one pedal they would like to touch-up... What do y'all think? Cheers |

Hi Alien DNA
Boss have always had touch-up paint available. They call it a NEW PEDAL ..... --- ---
Sorry if I sounded a bit sarcastic, & remember some people - collectors, like their pedals to be a bit shell shocked.
Some guys, will even buy the ones, that look like they have been in a cement mixer with a few shovel fulls of blue-stones & concrete mix, for the last few hours.
And in reality & my experience, no other manufacturer of pedals has ever offered, touch-up paint.
Regards Br. Bob |

Hey Dr Bob!! For a split second after reading your 1st line of the reply, i had my hopes up....then you crushed me like a bug Dont get me wrong, i like my pedals nice and clean and i kinda wonder why people would buy the 'cement mixer look' pedals...each to their own i guess. Do you have any cement mixer looking pedals doc? The ce-5 i got recently has a couple of nicks that id love to touch up. Anyways, good to hear from y a Dr Bob. ps: im gona have a look on thursday for the 'kill all djs' tshirt for us and i'll let you know how i go. Cheers |

I'd sure buy a couple of those Alien DNA. And a couple of original spare knobs, too.
Hey Dr. Bob have you sent me that PM already? |

Hi EEone
Sorry, I haven't sent you a PM yet. I have just sorted out the problems I was having with my mail link with my new ISP provider. I wasn't able to send ANY PM, I only had incoming mail.
I have been testing out some outgoing mail, with a few close fiends, just to make sure that everything seems OK.
And for beat up wost condition pedals? Basstyra wins that award, with his two "Bottom Of The Sea pedals".
Me I have two "cement mixer enhanced" pedals, that came as part of some dead equipment-pedals I bought, last year.
Regards Dr. Bob

| I would not touch up anything vintage. That is a sure way to decrease its value. |

i'm not into touching up any of my gear either,i like the 'used' look........and i'm just a lazy ass guitar player who's probably had too much guinness and yeagermeister to put his gear away properly after a gig..... ...... ...yep just like my two little friends here....puts a big smile on my face too..... |

I had one that needed more than a touch up...it needed a whole new case.
I wouldnt do anything to my pedals though. They never move, just sitting on my floor, so theres not much that can go wrong with them. I bought most of them second handed, so they have scratches on them, but it just shows their age and how much theyve been used (means how good they are ) |

| It is not that I like the scratched up pedal look, but sometimes I like a couple minor nicks so I dont have to worry about damaging a mint condition pedal. I wound up with several duplicates in my collection because the first one was too nice for me to be using it regularly. |

ive only touched up one pedal. i was painting my guitar (which happens to be the same color as a PS-5) and i noticed my PS-5 had 2 dinged corners so i touched it up and it turned out PERFECT!. the color is called "cayman" if anyones interested
i wanted to touch up my 79 DS-1 but realised that it would be next to impossible to touch up a vintage one since it is faded. even if i could find the exact paint, the touched up area would look darker than the original faded paint. i think you would have better luck touching up a newer pedal |

I guess if you were really keen, some paint shops so some sort of colour matching if you have a sample of the colour you want to copy/replicate.
Just a thought ... |
