SP-1, congrats on your V. I much prefer this version with the chrome pickup covers. It looks dead mint from the picture.
Krall, awesome collection but you do know you completely hijacked sp-1's thread |

They started making the '67 reisue in '89 The first and fourth digit of the serialnumber is the year of production. Let me know what you find.
Hi..It's actually the first and fifth digit of the serial number..I checked and the guitar is actually a '89...I knew it was late eighties!
First and fifth digit indeed, knew that, my mistake

Hi sp-1
When you take more pics, can you take some closeups of the pickups & scratch guard, as well as the back of the guitar, including the neck plate.
I have not seen one since my teens, too long ago.
Was it from a private collector, of just a lucky find? What about the condition of the Frets?
Regards Dr. Bob

Dr. Bob sorry just shipped the boxes otherwise I was happy to send you the v as well
Little fret wear not more than my '67 reisue and yes I guess I was a bit lucky it was on ebay but it was spelled wrong so not many people who were searching for 'gibson flying v' found it. I coincidentely found it while I was searching google on flying v.
Here's my collection http://www.bossarea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4649 |

LOL nice one timbo! Reminds me of the start of Back to the Future where he plugs his guitar into a massive amp and the power just knocks him off his feet!!!
Krall that is one very impressive "music room"! |

Jeez Krall.
Please go to my Twin replacement thread and add your $0.02. I'm sure you have a Bandmaster there somewhere. |

Yeah, there's a few things in there..The P-bass on the far right is a '61. Here are a few other things you guys might want to see:
Wow!! Just caught up with this thread. I thought I had a lot of PA gear stashed in my basement (about 1.5 tonnes) but my stuff is just subs and amps etc. Krall you have a very SERIOUS collection... beats mine all to heck.
I'm impressed, and I'm glad it's all with someone who appreciates it rather than getting dusty in the back of a pawn shop somewhere.
There is a music store here in Calgary that specialises in "good old stuff" (Vintage Music) and even they don't have this much cool gear.
