Well, I just discovered this forum, and I'm glad I did! I've been a fan of Boss pedals ever since I got my first one, an NS-2.
Here is a current pic of my Boss Collection and the stories behind their acquisition, hope ya like!

Top row: 1)BF-2 Flanger, MIJ, black screw. Just got this one today for 39 bucks at a pawnshop. 2)SD-1 Super Overdrive. Another Pawnshop find, mint condition for 20 bucks. 3)PH-3 Phase Shifter. Traded an Ibanez CF7 for it. Wild and versatile pedal. 4)NS-2 Noise Suppressor. First Boss I bought. Lives on my pedal board. Bought at a pawnshop for 25 bucks. Later went south on me, but was revived by a guy in California who did an excellent job. 5)AW-3 Dynamic Wah. Yet another pawnshop find, 40 bucks. Really love the step function.
Bottom Row: 6)EH-2 Enhancer. Bought this one without really knowing what it does. Glad I did. Another one that lives on my pedal board and yet another pawnshop find, 25 bucks. 7)GE-7 Equalizer. This was the second Boss pedal I acquired, and yet another pawnshop find, 25 bucks. Every guitarist should own one of these IMO. 8)NS-2 Noise Suppressor. I bought this one when the first one fried. Decided to fix the first one and kept this one as a backup. It has also been a loaner for bandmates with noise issues. 9)CE-3 Chorus, MIJ. My favorite chorus pedal, bar none. Just a killer pedal. Found on ebay for 29 bucks. 10)MT-2 Metal Zone. Well, I've had 2 of these, this is the second one I bought. The first, I stupidly sold to an ex-bandmate. This one I found at a pawnshop in new condition for 35 bucks. Will always be the king of the distortion boxes IMO.
As you have probably noticed, I'm a pawnshop hound, and most of my gear has been acquired from them. I don't usually worry about the original boxes and manuals (hell, I've gotten a couple cheaper that way). But, I do LOVE my Boss stomp boxes.

Thanks Doc! I am an admitted pedal whore and pawnshop addict. Some good deals can be found on the Boss stuff here in the states, just requires a little patience and haggling.
Now, if I could only find a Slow Gear and a Dimension C for cheap! A man can dream... |

Just wait till you hear a CE-2, I don't think there's anyone here who doesn't like the CE-2.

Well there's me! I know I am weird but I prefer my analogue CE-5 for its ability for much subtler blended wet / dry chorus sounds
Welcome sylvesterlowery, I think you'll find it a friendly helpful place, I certainly have.

Thanks everybody for the welcome and kind comments!
Hateandwar: I use it at the end of my chain before my NS-2 to help brighten things since I run through so many other pedals. It also helps to brighten up darker sounding guitars IMO.
Joske Turbo: I really like the BF-2. I've wanted a good flanger for a while, this definitely fits the bill. |
