It's a small world! A little off topic,I was able to find 2 pretty rare Ibanez OD9's(82 like new w/box,83 good cond.some chips). I know the one pictured on your site and several others are repainted TS9 boxes. Both of mine are only painted the OD9 metallic green w/bare metal underneath. You may have seen this by now but thought I'd share with you! They sound brilliant! |

It is a small wold. But that is what makes it so enjoyable.
So you have 2 OD9's!??? I was already pretty glad owning one! And yes, they sound awesome. All big muffs do, IMHO. Just variations of distortion ponography. From 70's style erotica (triangle muff) to LA hardcore (opamp muffs). All OK if you're in the mood.
Sorry for fouling your forum Dr. Bob
Back ontopic,

Slight hijack again, I have heard that the OD9 is a Big Muff circuit, but while my own green Russian and Reissue NYC, as well as several Rams Heads I've played sound similar playing lead lines, the OD9 plays chords with ease. 7th's, 9th's, Hedrix, you name it. I can't say the same about any Big Muff i've played! Now back to topic...I'm following this intently, as I have a DSD-2 I purchased with a broken switch, and now this has me thinking about replacing those caps. The pedal is like new and hasn't seen much use, but this sounds like an age related issue. |
