| How about Boss went to work and made us a vibe pedal? And I'm not talking about something like the VB-2, more in the vein of univibe type stuff. |

| That dano chicken salad I rehoused in anoher thread is dead simple - the actual vibe circuit has about 20 components. Boss could do an "equivalent" in a heartbeat... |

I use my dynacord in a slow setting with a bit of chorus or i have a uni-vibe patch with a bit of reverb set up on the XTpro for that type of effect..... |

| The Dano Cool Cat sounds very convincing and is cheap too. The enclosure looks a bit duff though. |

Be careful with this one though... even a hint of hot signal and it distorts like a mofo. My single coils in my Aerodyne are enough to cause it issues. |

I have the Dano Cool Cat Vibe myself and I love it! It really is organic, swampy and trippy. (I have the Transparent Overdrive and Tremolo as well...)
But I just remembered seeing these threads asking people which pedal Boss should work on next and then it just sorta dawned on me: Why have they not made a vibe yet? You'd think they would have launched one at about the time they launched the fuzz pedal, since people will pay big bucks for those 'booteek' vibes these days.
And please, Boss engineers, lose the COSM, just make a nice old school vibe. |

Hi Laurie,
I tried the cool cat vibe with the a standard fender strat and it was ok. Does the Dano Chicken Salad have a similar problem ?
(For some reason this Dano reminds me that I need to start a diet and loose weight. Damn, a lot of has accumulated over the years.)

+1..... i mainly use my XTpro for extra delay/reverb stuff which i think it does pretty good...the chorus/flanger/phaser type stuff are ok but i still like my analogue dynacord for the swirly, leslie effect and my CE-2 for chorus..the digital sims are good but IMHO they just don't have the depth and richness of the analogue stuff...i have a few spare patches just for flanger, phaser and uni-vibe because i use those effects so little i couldn't justify having the extra pedals on my board.....

I presume Boss considers the RT-20 to be their 'vibe-pedal'. I personally LOVE the pedal. The slow rotary and the Uni-V setting suit my 'vibe' needs just fine (as long as the overdrive on the pedal stays off) The COSM modeling doesn't bother me at all. |

The chicken salad is fine with a hot signal, even when it is boosted by about 6dB. The design is simple and will take about 5V p-p before saturating/clipping.
The cool cat vibe problem is fairly abrupt onset. Past about 8 on my guitar volume it's there, below 8 it's completely absent. Goran mentioned in a nother thread that this is a known problem with the pedal.

I think I should mention the Vwah, Not the most popular on this forum but I love mine. Does loads of wah models & a very nice Uni V simulation. & being a wah you can control the depth with your foot.
Plus there is a very easy and effective mod for it too. I got mine Mint w/box 55 delivered. |
