i need help to fix my sd-1..

i don't know if the problem was there when i got it or not, because i didn't try it before i started modding...

the problem is, the LED is always on, but there is no OD-effect coming out...

i have signal coming through, but it's "bypassed", non-effected.

no matter how much i press the switch, i don't get any OD. Neither does the LED switch on and off, it's always lighting.

i have measured the switch, and it's working, 0V when pressed.

i also measured the 47uF and I have the 4,5V here.

I just don't know what the problem might be...

Hi nilo

Can you upload some pictures?

Does it look like it's been modded or worked on?

You did not mention whether you were using a "Known Good" battery or a power adapter.
Please try it with both.

Any there any obvious signs of abuse?

Regards Dr. Bob

pics will be a bit hard, only have the one in my cellphone..

it HAS been worked on, by me, at least, but, i bought it used from a music shop here in sweden and it looked a bit rough on some places, though, it seemed everything on the inside was stock (maybe not the wires)...

i'll see if i can upload some pics...

oh, and i am using a known good power adapter

no obvious signs of abuse, other than the legs on the transistors that had been bent a little, but i bent them back...

Hi nilo

You think the internal wiring is not original?

You might be able to compare the wiring, with some pics of the SD-1
in the "Pedal Internals" thread.

There are 2 SD-1's on page 5
and there are pics of two different versions on page 12.

Please let us know if you need see some schematics?

Another Boss pedal lives to gig another day.
Good Detective (Tech) work nilo.

I did notice that someone has fitted an IC socket, & possibly some other mods to your SD-1.
