It's my understanding, that other than the 2nd out on the "3", that it also sounds a little cleaner than the "2". Is this a correct description & what is your overall preference (given you have carnal knowledge of both).
Many thanks,

| You understanding sounds correct. I prefer the DM-2 and often use it with a second (digital) delay. I like to use my DC-2 for the initial stereo split, so the stereo out on the DM-3 does nothing for me. For the cleaner delay sounds I have the digital delay. I just use the DM-2 for when I need a short, warm delay. It makes a nice reverb substitute if your amp does not have reverb. |

| Hello, Just joined and am impressed with the few posts and replies I have read. Being a delay freak I was interested in this category. Been playing in stereo for about 25 years now and once you have played in stereo you can't go back. My preference for setting up is using the line out on amp #1 to a CE-2 and a DM-3 (or DM-2) then into amp #2. Although I do play guitar using a bass amp for #2 really gives nice tone and depth. Amp #1 gives your sound and #2 is just a slave. All other pedals like compression, overdrive etc. should be between your guitar and amp #1. The DM-2 or 3 is much easier to get a nice warm, short echo to simulate playing in a large hall without having to use excessive volume. The digital delays are difficult to get that short echo and just can't do it as nice. Just an additional note, the CH-1 chorus is nice in place of the CE-2 and gives a little stronger chorus effect if you want it. Hope I haven't rambled on too much here. |

Agree 100%, but DM-3 is also a very good analog delay. |

| It'd be nice if someone could do a youtube video with a DM-2 vs DM-3. I would do it, except my DM-3 recently died, and I haven't gotten the parts in to try to fix it yet. |

I use my DM-2 in my floorboard, and the day to celebrate I just bought a DM-3 on ebay, so I have to wait for a week or so before I can compare them. |
