| Does anyone have any information regarding Amdek Pedals? From what I've gathered, they were made by Roland/Boss as DIY kits that you could assemble yourself. I haven't had much luck finding any details, although I have managed to track down a couple of the actual pedals. |

I've seen Amdek pedals on Ebay but never knew where they were made.
It wasn't uncommon for Japanese manufacturers in the 70s and 80s to make products with different brand names. Fujigen and Matsumoku made guitars with maybe 100 different names on them so maybe the same applied to stompbox manufacturers. |

| In the Boss Book, although there is no formal mention of the Amdek line, there is a shot of one in Mr M's collection. I've found a few but I've yet to try them out. I would love to find out if there's a checklist of sorts to see what all else they made for this line. |

Amdek effects pedals were in fact made by Boss/Roland back in the eighties and were very popular in England. They were advertised in a music magazine(Electronics & MusicMaker),and were sold in a bubble-pack in Kit form(DIY). The range was wide and some had even the same circuitry as some old Boss original pedals (For ex. Amdek DMK-200 Delay Machine was the same, exept the metal box,as the DM-2) The full range was: d DMK-200 Delay Machine OCK-100 Octaver PHK-100 Phaser FLK-100 Flanger CMK-100 Compressor EMK-100 Metronome HCK-100 Hand Clapper GEK-100 Graphic Equalizer TAK-100 Tuning Amp PDK-100 Power Distributer PCK-100 Percussion Synthesizer MXK-600 Stereo 6 Channel Mixer RMK-100 Rhythm Machine DMK-100 Delay Machine (same as dmk-200 but AC powered) CHK-100 Chorus And thats all i have about AMDEK. I hope this will be helpfull info. |

| I found a Japanese site that had a few of them but they were more expensive than the Boss versions even. I guess because of their rarity. I got lucky on the couple that I have, but there are a couple I really want to find still. |

Theres also a DSK-100 Distortion.I' ve been able to get that and a CMK-100 compressor. They don't pop up much these days.
I know the slim ones where DIY kits but I think the bigger models (as the one in Mister M. collection)was preasembled.. Does anyone know about that?

I saw an RMK-100 drum machine a while ago on Ebay. It was the wide type and the seller said he'd built it from a kit. |

So I got really curious on this subject as I never knew these pedals were supposedly made by Roland/Boss, and did a little researching.
As far as I can tell there are two box styles to this pedal and it probably depended only on how much (many components) they had to fit into a case.
I know no one has mentioned this yet, but DiscoFreq's site is a great resource for pictures of Amdek pedals and some equipment still in the kit packaging.

The DMK-100 appears to be more like a DM-1 Delay Machine. Awesome. |

Thanks ;)
I have an Amdek MXK-600 Mixer, an FLK-100 Flanger and 4 PCK-100 Percussion Synthesizers (3 kits, 1 secondhand). On the site you can find schematics and instructions for some of the kits and I still have some more information to add. |
