I just received my OD-1. Aside a few chips it's pretty minty besides that the LED has been replaced with a 5mm amber LED, which is a nice color but now the hole is too big to fit an original 3mm red one. Oh well, I probably leave it this way, a big red led would look like shit.
It's a bit of an odd pedal however. The label says īnside the compartment 911491 which would make it 1988 as I said in my previous post, the bottom label (type 3B) says made in Japan, it has the transparant plastic board insulation and the board looks exactly the same as the middle period one in the Boss book on page 57.
But if the board doesn't say "Made in Taiwan" as on the final period ones how can this be an '88 pedal? When exactly did production shift to Taiwan? |

Proud new owner of an Analog Man Boss BD-2 w/ Super Mod.
I'm a HUGE fan of his bi-comp and the SD-1 I have (I also have his TS-9 & DS-1 which just isn't for me, not his mods, just the pedal in general).

This weeks arrivals:

I was looking for a HM-2 mij for a while and suddenly ran into this one cheap
This MT-2 was bought as broken, but turned out to be fine, the guy i bought it from probably just pulled the battery with a bit too much force which led to the clip not working 100%. It took me about 1 minute to repair.. |

Hi zestystrat
Congrats on getting your new Modded BD-2.
Any Chance we can get some closeup pics of the board, for the internals pages? I read that he used very expensive Caps in this mod? Are you able to tell-see what brand he is using-talking about?
And maybe one of the outside of the case as well?
Regards Dr. Bob |

Tracking says my PS-3 is waiting at the post office but today is Christmas so it's closed. WHAT A TEASE

But, I should have it tomorrow in time for band practice. |

I ordered it shortly before the holiday and honestly didn't expect it to arrive pre-xmas at all, which wasn't a problem.
It's just a bummer that tracking shows it only several miles from my house, but out of reach! haha |

Welcome to the forum tomutomu. Nice little board.
Good to see someone from Japan here.
I like the mushroom stickers.
I was just about to ask if those mushrooms came stock
When I did the R28 mod - my girlfriend modded the case! Cute, right? |

Finally got around to taking some pics of my xmas pedals..
The SD-1 looks totally modern, hard to believe it's from Jan.83. (it has a DD chip, but appears untouched - is this normal?)

And...cropped for the sake of brevity - a detail from the PH-1. Some Roland pedal-painter in March, 1980 (#9200) got a little sloppy:

Also notice the casting of the aluminum on the bottom edge.. the flat sides are also streaky as discussed in other threads.. |

| I'm not sure. I'd bet on ionized spraying, but there must have been some run-off or splash somewhere.. I'm surprised that much of it has lasted. |

Hi verivorax
Very nice little Chrissy collection. The DC-2 & SS PH-1 are my favorites.
You must have been a very good boy all year, for Santa to bring you that haul.
You know I am going to ask you for some internal pics of the DC-2.. And I don't recall if we have internals of the FT-2.
Regards Dr. Bob |

That PH-1 looks perfect, I am so (appropriately) green with envy

archimedes: thanks.. when I knew it was coming, I had no idea if it was beat to shit, or even if it had its screw. Maybe karma intervened..
The PH-1's serial matches my mintest OD-1.. all I need is a SP-1 #9200 to have a late Traffic Light Set.. suuure. |
