My first pedal was a Washburn Chorus pedal of some kind back in 1986...what a turd! Gave it away(literally) a few months later.
At about that same time(September 1986) I bought my first Boss pedal, a DM-3 which I still have to this day.

Hey DeFrag

Do you still have it?
What does/did it sound like?

Naw. From what I remember it was decent, basic, a bit too deep. It sure was tough finding a pic on the net for it. It must have been the predecessor to the Phase 90.

In about 1979, one of these, though I not sure if the design was exactly the same as this one:

I wish I'd kept it!

Hi Konrad

I can imagine, that you are feeling a bit BENT that you sold it, or got rid of it.
We all did stuff like that, so don't feel too bad.

Let me see... back in the day, when I was young....

The guitar player and I used to swap gear like no-one's business. IIRC, the earliest pedal collection would have been..

Sound City Chorus (which I still have), Boss HF-2 (mine too, now with added pink LED), Tokai Phaser (which had to go, as they would never let me use it on bass), and Boss DD-3 (long gone, but the reason why I love Boss Digital Delays).

We didn't have any overdrives or distortions... we just turned everything up to 11.

Hi Caliban

What do you mean by, or what is a Pink LED?

Dr Bob:

It means the on/off status LED now matches the colour of the case.

Uninentional, I assure you - the original one got stomped on and I picked a new one at random from a bag of LED's. But it's very co-ordinated.

Hi Caliban
So you mean that it's a RED LED, just maybe not running at full brightness, to give you a redish-pink?

Hi redundant

I believe you just wrote a great marketing advert for Boss.

I hope they were paying attention.
