From bosscorp.co.jp: --------------------
quote:
Roland Corporation is voluntarily recalling the BOSS Rhythm Machine, DR-880 (released on November 17, 2004). After investigation, a problem in the system software was detected, causing loss of data after using the saving function over 500 times.
After executing WRITE procedure for approximately 500 times, the message - "User data is damaged. Factory Reset" will appear when turning on the DR-880's power, and the data stored in the user memory will be lost. This occurs when the total number of WRITE procedure exceeds 500 times, and it goes the same even if the power is turned off between times.
This is caused by the DR-880's system software, and by upgrading it, the above problem will be solved.
There is a download for the upgraded software on bosscorp.co.jp. Alternatively, Roland will upgrade the software for you if you send them your DR-880.
I got one of these. Luckily I haven't saved 500 times yet so I will be able to upgrade before I lose any data. |
