Bossarea,

I noticed that the pedals pages have a "not implemented yet" speaker icon. Are there going to be sound clips of each pedal? It would be nice if forumites had a way of contributing sound clips of Boss pedals.

That's the plan. I haven't worked out the details yet but I figuered everyone is using different gear and different settings so it doesn't matter if there's 20 sound samples of the same pedal. I hope to get a better upload service working before then.

Hey thats cool Boss Area. I am recording sound samples of each of my pedals at the moment, I figure playing each with its own settings from the manual is the way to go.

The best thing to do would get a few riffs together that can be tested on each pedal, or at least common riffs for each type of pedal (Distortion,Fuzz,OD for example) so you can compare them properly. When I make samples I usually sample something with my DD-6 and run the pedal to be sampled infront of it and just tweak it each time the sample runs.

I was thinking before and after clips. First the guitar and amp without the pedal. Then with the pedal. The Boss Book has some clips of the dirt pedals that were done like that. It is nice to have the guitar and amp tone without the pedal as a reference point when comparing dirt pedals. A lot of the tone with a dirt pedal is going to depend on the guitar and amp as well.
