Is there any difference between the two VCA chips used in CS-3s over the years. I have a friend's 92-vintage CS-3 in for mods. It's MIT, but has the DBX chip. Does this make it better and/or more desirable? Or is the THAT chip just a generic equivalent?

Man, this CS-3 is a hissy beast - I hope replacing the 1 uF electrolytics with film quiets it down. His CS-2 is a lot quieter.

The search function for the forum is a kinda wierd. Easiest way to find stuff about a particular subect is to go to Google, then:
- select "advanced search"
- type in your key words
- in "Search within a site or domain:" type in www.bossarea.com/forum

This will pull all the pages in the forum that relate to your key words.
